Annabeth's POV

The view from the Ferris wheel was amazing. The sun was setting and the whole night was lit up with pink, purple, and bright blue streaks. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful way to end this long day.

I know Mikey was next to me, but in that moment all I could think about was Jake.

It would have been perfect if Jake was here. I have the admit, I am jealous.

Mikey twisted beside me, I think he wanted to talk but I'm not really in the mood. I leaned against him, seeking comfort. I just really needed a friend.

Mikey's POV.

She looked so beautiful, the sunset shadowing her face as she looked toward the horizon.

I shifted to look at her, hoping to see her smile. She leaned into my arm, taking the hint I wrap my arm around her small shoulders. But, not before I saw her smile slip slightly.

I wonder what's on her mind.

The ride home was quiet but comfortable. After pulling unto her drive way, I turned to her, grabbing her hand to stop her from geting out of the car.

Fear quickly flashed through her eyes before she smiled at me.

"What?" She whispered.

For some reason my palms got sweaty and my heart started to beat a little faster.

"I had a nice time. Do you maybe want to do this again?"

Why did I sound so nervous? What the fuck is wrong with me? Suck it up man, she's just a girl.

Annabeth's POV.

My heart stopped. What was he asking me? Is he really asking me out?

Maybe I should say yes? Wait, no! What about Jake?

"Jake has a girlfriend. "  A nasty voice in my head  snarled.

That is true, he does have a girlfriend.

....

Fuck it.

"Yeah, we should do this again." I said, faking excitement.

I think the smile on his face is what made me feel so guilty.

I should do something nice. Reassure him.

I leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before hurrying out of the car and inside the house.

Jake's POV

Claire's lips were soft and moist. Her kisses were a bit sloppy but didn't lack the passion she seemed to have.

Her body was pressed up against mine. I could feel the curve of her chest against mine. Her slender waist, legs wrapped around me.

Her hand reached down, fumbling with my waistband.

My heart stopped. This didnt feel right.

I pushed her hand away, and sat up.

"My dad is gonna be home soon. I should take you home." I said, breathlessly.
