Glad that lunch was over. Sitting in awkward silence wasn't my idea of a good time.
"Yo, Anna. What class do you have next?" Jake asked me, looking genuinely curious as we walked out of the cafe.
"Uhm, Personal Finance with Ms. Cohn." I said looking down at my schedule. He looked thoughtful for a moment then turned to a scrawny looking freshman. He demanded they take me to my first class. Before I could refuse the scared looking boy grabbed my elbow and started pulling my down the hall. I shrugged him off and walked silently behind him as he led me to what I could only assume was my next class.
When we finally arrived, I turned towards the boy and smiled.
"Thank you." I smiled at him and placed my hand on his shoulder to show my sincerity. His response was to blush and and stammer a your welcome before scampering off to his class.
The first thing I noticed when I entered the room was the almost overpowering smell of burnt vanilla. The next thing I noticed was the volumpous figure of a brunette. Her long, chocolate brown hair fell down her back, a little ways past her waist, in loose curls. She had on a steel grey, pencil skirt that hugged her wide, round hips. A snug, sheer, white button up on with a long, black, beaded necklace on. Her back was to me, but once everyone in the room stilled to look at me, she noticed I was standing there. Once she turned around, I heard a small gasp leave my lips. She was beautiful. She wore only a little makeup. Her eyes seemed heavy with worry. She smiled but the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"Hello, who might you be?" her voice floated towards me like air.
"My-,My name is Annabeth." I stuttered.
"Well, take your seat, Annabeth." she said as she pointed towards an empty seat.
[ 3:00 pm]
Finally, the bell rang. This was the longest day of my life. Slowly, I started walking towards my car, listening to idle chatter of the other students.
Once I was in the parking lot I saw Jake leaning up against my car talking to a pretty, blonde girl.
"Uhm, what are you doing?" I asked, letting the ice ooze into my voice.
"Nothing, just waiting on the guy whose car this is to come out." was my reply. He turned back to start talking to the girl again. But I cut him off.
"Well, he's here now." I said with a smirk, using my keys to automatically unlock it.
I tried hard not to giggle as I saw Jake's jaw drop.
Throwing my things in the back seat, I climbed in to the drivers seat and turned the car on. The beast whispered to life. Slipping my sunglasses on, I threw a smirk in his direction. Pulling away, I couldn't resist the urge to turn my bass on. Turning it up to halfway, my windows started to shake as I slowly made my way out of the parking lot. All eyes on me and I didn't mind for a change.
Jake's POV
As soon as the bell rang I bolted out the door, I wanted to meet the guy who owned that beautiful car next to mine. While walking I heard my name being called from behind me. I turned to find the source and my eyes dropped on Summer. A cheerleader with a hopeless crush on me. Fun to hook up with at parties but nothing more. We chatted about her day and walked to the parking lot.
"Do you need a ride, sweetheart?" I asked Summer, hoping to get some action on the way home.
A wide, nervous smile crept onto her lips.
"Yes, please."
"Alright, cupcake, Ill take you home after a talk to this guy," pointing AG the car.
