Chapter 9: Puzzles

We entered the temple slowly and quietly, I held onto Lukas since I was really scared about this place, we then stopped in our tracks we heard a spider,

"Was t-that a spider?" I asked with a shake to my voice. Lukas hugged me so I wouldn't be scared. Suddenly we heard the noise again, Reuben ran ahead, stepping on a tripwire which set off an arrow dispenser,

"RUN!" Jesse shouted as she and Axel ran to the middle of the place where there weren't any arrows, Olivia picked up Shadow and ran across swiftly. My legs were shaking as I looked at the arrow's which were flying across the room,

"It'll be okay" Lukas whispered to me, his words comforted me. I took his hand and we ran dodging the arrows, one almost hit me but missed me by a centimetre. Once me and Lukas reached the middle we looked ahead of us there were even more arrows but these were flying faster.

"W-Woah... THAT is a lot of arrows" I panted as I sat down on the ground, Jesse then looked at the crafting table and then looked at the rest of us.

"Empty our pockets maybe we can make something to help us," I took out some feathers I had collected just after the chicken machine exploded, Lukas brought out some sticks, Olivia brought out some string and then Axel took a piece of flint out. Jesse picked up these items and then walked over to the crafting table. She was at the table for a while but eventually she turned around with a bow and arrow in hand, she pulled back the bow and fired the arrow at the pressure plate that had set off the arrows. The arrows stopped firing and we moved on,

"Is this a library... EEEEEEEKKK!" I screeched, I ran around the library looking at all the books and how they were sorted. I noticed a book on an extremely fancy stand, I walked over to it and picked it up. I opened it and read the first line out, "That doesn't make any sense"

"What doesn't make any sense?" Lukas asked as he walked to my side. I looked back at the book to make sure I read it right,

"It says there were five members in the Order" I explained. Jesse took the book and then examined every aspect of the it, she then gasped, "What is it sis?"

"It says that Ivor was a member of the Order of the Stone!" Jesse said surprised, I looked at Lukas with a surprised expression plastered on my face. Axel started to laugh we all turned to him,

"What's so funny?" I questioned, Axel laughed even more,

"I can't believe you punched a member of the Order!" Axel blurted out. I looked at the floor embarrassed, but then Lukas put his arm around me and held me close,

"They lied to the whole world!" Olivia said in realisation. Jesse looked at the rest of us with a stern yet comforting face,

"The Order may not be what we think they are but that monster is still out there, Petra is still out there" Jesse explained. I looked at a pair of stairs which lead up,

"Where do you think they lead?" Olivia asked, Jesse looked at her friend and then at the stairs,

"Somewhere safe... I hope." We walked up the stairs and on to what looked like a meeting area, I looked at a map which was held up on the wall by pins which had started to wear away. I looked around a bit more and then noticed a pedestal,

"Hey Jesse, do you think the amulet goes here?" I questioned, Jesse walked over and placed it on the pedestal,

"Fits like a charm" she explained as she looked around. I walked over to a bunch of levers, it looked like another puzzle and I love puzzles, I switched a few of the levers around until I eventually lit the redstone lamp up. It shone onto the amulet which set some mini beacons onto the map, I walked back over to the map and looked at where the beacons pointed to,

"These must be the beacons for Ellegaard and Magnus" I suggested as I looked at the colours. Lukas got our attention by tapping my back,

"I'm gonna stay here maybe try to fortify this place before night" Lukas suggested, "But I wouldn't mind if two of you could stay behind and help"

"Sounds like Olivia and Y/N will have you covered while me and Jesse go get Magnus." Axel said,

"Go find Magnus you really think that's how this is gonna go" Olivia interrupted, "We need Ellegaard she's smart." Jesse stood and looked at her two friends,

"Y/N, Axel you two stay here and help Lukas while me and Olivia go get Ellegaard" I was proud with Jesse's choice I knew that if anyone could help us it would be Ellegaard. Jesse and Olivia started to walk,

"And guys... Please hurry" Lukas said as he looked over to the horizon where the Wither Storm was emerging, this was the last thing I heard because I fainted.
