The black car arrived at a gray building, carrying six of the seven members. In fact, the black car wasn't a black car, it was a black van, and that omitted detail caught the members off guard when they first saw the vehicle in front of their houses. The van picked up each member, in order from farthest from the dorm, to closest to the dorm. When they finally made it to their destination, the man in the passenger seat, Oh BaekJoon, motioned and guided them to an elevator to the second floor, where their place of residence would be.
The elevator was bleak, let out a creak now and then, and smelled of mustard. All of the boys held their noses as they ascended to their floor. Finally, Oh BaekJoon stopped in front of a door, slightly repaired, but not much better than the other wooden doors throughout the building. He opened the door and exclaimed,
"Welcome to your new home!"
The six boys peered in as the door opened, hesitating to step one foot into the space. Voices filtered from within the dorm, and the six trainees walked cautiously into the living room.
"Oh, Jungkook!" said Jimin, surprised. "How did you get here before us?"
Jungkook subtly motioned to his parents and Jimin gave out a quick chuckle of understanding. It became quiet once Jungkook's parents noticed that they were being stared at by the members.
"Ok, Jungkook-ah, we'll be leaving now," his mother said quickly.
"Be a good boy and listen to your hyungs, son." His father gave Jungkook a small pat on the back, while his mother pulled him in for a tight hug and a prolonged kiss on his forehead, messing up his hair as she held onto him.
"Eomma~" Jungkook whined, patting his hair down with his hand.
The other six boys giggled, covering their mouths and looking away, trying not to let Jungkook know that they noticed his embarrassement. His parents left, meeting Oh BaekJoon at the doorway.
"I'm going to leave you boys here together. Look around the dorm, this is your new home now. The manager and I will come back tomorrow and we will start your training at the studio. Until then!"
And with that, the boys were alone, glancing at the living room, the couch, and the kitchen next to them.
"Yeah, let's look around!" yelled V, with the most excitement.
The others nodded and said "Yeah, let's go" in agreement. At this point, they all went in different directions, looking for interesting rooms and items. They opened the refrigerator to see a few vegetables and some banana milk. In the drawers were packets of Ramen, pots to cook it in, and bowls to serve it in.
The bathroom didn't see much improvement as old stains found themselves on the side of the shower, and finger streaks on the mirror. But at least there was some body soap and a toothbrush holder. It could have been worse.
When they got to the bedrooms, it was a free-for-all. There were three bedrooms and none of them cared who they had for roommates.
"I call this one!" yelled Namjoon.
"If you got that one, I got this one!" exclaimed Jin.
"And if you got THAT one..."
"Yeah, yeah, we know, you got that one, Jimin," they said. Jimin lowered his head, rubbed his neck, and laughed.
The roommates ended up like this: SeokJin and Yoongi, Namjoon and Jungkook, and Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung (the three of them) all in the same room. Jungkook felt like he was going to be awkward sharing a room with Namjoon, since he didn't really talk to kids who were older than him, especially since Namjoon would graduate that year. He wanted to room with someone who was closer to his age, like Taehyung. But the roommates were already final, and he tried to make the best of his new living situation.
The rest of the boys didn't think about the roommate distribution and they all decided to enter the living room to play the GameCube (complimentary of BigHit).
They played for about two hours until Yoongi groaned "I'm hungry~" He rubbed his stomach and laid across the arm of the couch. "Should we get Bulgogi again?"
"No, no," answered Jin. "This is our new home, we should learn how to cook and provide for ourselves here. We can't go out for Bulgogi every night."
"But there's only Ramen here..." Namjoon pouted.
"I'll make it tasty, don't worry," Jin reassured the members.
As the eldest cooked dinner, the rest stopped playing video games and watched TV instead. A game show was on, and a funny host made idol groups dance to their own songs at a fast pace. The show was only half way over when they heard Jin's voice call out "It's ready~!"
They scrambled to the small dining room table, bouncing in their seats as Jin served plates to all the younger trainees. They slurpped and blew on their food. Jin gave a smirk of approval, satisfied that he made a delicious dish from packets of convenience store Ramen.
After all the members finished eating, they felt their stomachs temporarily fatten, pushing them to sleep, in order to prepare for their long day ahead.
They each went to their rooms and got ready for bed. In Taehyung, Jimin, and Hoseok's room, they fell asleep as they hit their beds, too lazy to turn the light off. Jin saw this, so he went to their room, flicked the light switch off, and shut their door without a creak. As Jungkook and Namjoon went right to their bed after their light turned off, Jungkook looked at the ceiling, before saying "Goodnight, hyung."
"Oh, uhhh...goodnight...Jungkook." Namjoon turned toward the wall next to his bed, hoping the maknae didn't feel the awkwardness coming from his voice.
After turning off the light of the three-roommate bedroom, Jin walked into his room, finding Yoongi writing at the small desk to the side of the room.
"What're you doing?" Jin asked Yoongi.
"I'm just writing down a song idea. I like this line: 'I don't give a shit, I don't give a fuck." I heard it in a movie I was watching at my house this week. It's from an American movie. I don't know what it means, but I like how it sounds."
"I like the flow of it," said Jin. He then started to unpack his belongings. He didn't want to wait until tomorrow, there wouldn't be much time.
When Yoongi was done, he turned around and gasped. "Woahhhh."
"Huh? What is it?" Jin didn't know what he was impressed about, but then he followed the path of Yoongi's eyes, and he looked at an item in his hand.
"Oh, haha. You don't need to worry about this. You're too young." Jin held a condom in his hand, and he was just about to put it in his dresser.
"You don't plan to, you know-" Yoongi started.
"No, no, no. At least not here. I can get a motel for that."
Yoongi continued to stare at the condom in awe, he had never been so close to one.
Jin went on, "I don't have a girlfriend. Yet. These are just in case, you know...I get lucky. Here, you take one. But only when you're older, ok?"
He handed Yoongi one of the plastic squares and both of them placed theirs in their dressers. Jin was too tired to finish packing this late, so he would wait until tomorrow to pack all of his clothing and other items.
In a matter of minutes, they were all asleep. Not much time passed, though, as the sun rose and they heard the sound of a very charismatic voice waking them up from their peaceful slumber.
