CH 6 PT 2

Artemis' body contorted in pain, her eyes opened and her mouth gave a mute scream. Kris felt his muscles tense in rage. Before he could stop himself, he went into his dino mode and smacked Veloci with his tail, sending him careening to the side. In one move, he smashed opened the cylinder, releasing her screams. With the screaming girl in his arms, he bolted into the hallway, only to be met with the electric prods. He wrapped himself around her small body, breaking through the building's plaster and out into the woods. Pursued by the men, but not for long as they quickly were shaken off of his tail. He continued to run, and soon found a giganotosaurus with a small girl on his back. They nodded at each other and ran back to the lighthouse.

When the four human team members arrived, they were met with scolding. Ms. M stopped it immediately when she saw Kris holding Artemis bridal style, and her pain painted on her face. She ordered Kris to lay her on the couch and he hesitated for a split second before obeying. She was still twitching in pain when the team was once again scolded.

"Lizzy and Kris could have died!" Sam suddenly yelled, breaking up Fiona's and Max's lecturing. It brought on a long, painful silence. Ms. M broke it.

"What happened to her?" She asked, motioning to Artemis. Kris winced a little from the guilt.

"The dino ooze reacts with her blood negatively."

"What's her blood type?" Roger chimed in, trying to piece it together.

"O negative," Kris said. "Veloci did it to torture me," Kris whispered to himself. No one heard it but him.

"What do we do, Roger?" Ms. M asked the man who was deep in thought.

"I don't know," he finally answered, sounding defeated. Silence followed as everyone thought deeply.

Suddenly, Sam and Kris stood up and rushed over to Artemis. "Max, Roger! Grab onto her legs!" They ordered in unison. When all four of the twitching girl's limbs were restrained, she screamed and shrieked, her body thrashing out. She arched her back and shrieked, different body parts changing into her dinosaur. Each change happened only for a few seconds before it disappeared. Everyone watched in shock as the four strained to restrain her thrashing limbs. Suddenly, she went limp and stopped moving. "Let go." Kris ordered. They all let go and Artemis' eyes flew open, red and dinosaur like.

She rolled off the couch and stood on all fours on the floor, holding a hand to her mouth. She began coughing, each one shaking her body with strong force. Sam went over to her and helped her stand up, she leaned on him and continued to cough into her hand. When she looked up again, she uncovered her mouth, revealing a bleeding nose and blood smeared on her lips. Bloody tears pooled out of her eyes and ran down her cheeks, giving her an eery look. She smiled weakly.

"I'm... I think I'm good now," she said, her voice barely a whisper. Lizzy rushed over and helped her to the couch, her face revealing worry.

"Are... are you okay?" she asked Artemis, her own tears running down her face. Artemis smiled and nodded, taking a tissue from Kris. With it, she whipped the blood off of her face.

"I'm fine now," Artemis assured the crying girl, hugging her. The six adults in the room stood shocked.

"What just happened?" Fiona asked, dumbfounded.

"She just became the opposite of a vampire," Buzz reasoned.

Roger shook his head. "Her body released the contaminated blood from her veins."

"Then why'd it come out from her face?" Buzz asked, shivering a bit.

"Because it was probably the place with the most contaminated blood," Ms. M stated, looking at Artemis who looked plenty tired. "Come, child," She said, leading Artemis out of the room. "Let's get you to bed." Lizzy tagged along, not wanting to leave her friend alone. They watched them leave.

They all decided to bury what happened then and there far under the earth.
