I was supposed to post this yesterday, but I kinda forgot so ... *smiles*
Merry Christmas!!! (I know it's a little late, but I still got to greet you guys! hehehe)
And now that I got that out of the way, here is another chapter for you to enjoy.

“Miss Kim, eto na po yung hinihingi niyo sa aking files,” Janice said, putting all the folders she had in her hands on my table.
“Yes, thank you.” I started to rummage through the files, hoping to be finished with them as soon as possible. There were still so many things to sort out, but my mother had given me only three weeks to do them.
“Miss Kim.”
“Shit!” I hissed, dropping the folder I was going over. “Tinakot mo naman ako!”
“Sorry po.” Janice gave me an apologetic smile, coming closer to my desk as she did.
“Akala ko kasi umalis ka na.” I huffed, willing my heart to slow down, and motioned for Janice to sit down.
“Pasensya na talaga, Miss Kim,” she apologized, taking the seat nearest my office table. “Hindi ko pa sinsadyang gulatin kyo. Gusto ko lang po kayong kausapin.”
“May problema ba?” I asked, folding my hands together as I waited for her to explain.
“Ahmm … k-kse po … dahil po to sa buy-out na mangyayari.”
“What about it?”
My mother had already explained to the different department heads about the buy-out of the company. Mr. Derek Ong, seeing he wouldn’t be getting PAY by making his son marry me, made a decent offer for the company. Mother saw it as an opportunity to sell. Negotiations were still being ironed out, but nothing was final yet.
“Kasi po Miss Kim, nung pong pumunta si Mr. Ong dito nung isang araw he said something I’m concerned about.”
Karen was the marketing head of PAY, and worry on her face told me I wouldn’t like what she would say.
“Papalitan niya daw po half of the current employees natin ... kapag nasa kanya na ang PAY.”
I frowned, knowing she wouldn’t lie about such things. She had been with the company since I was a little girl, and she was loyal and trustworthy.
“Are you sure na si Derek Ong itong narinig mo?”
“Yes po, Miss Kim.”
“Kasama yun sa kontrata na he wouldn’t be letting people off,” I told her, certain she knew the details of the buy-out.
“Yun nga din ang alam ko, but I overheard him talking to his son na madali daw gawan ng paraan yun.”
“Are you really sure?” I had a bad feeling even before she answered.
“Yes.”
This was why I was opposed to letting PAY go – so many things would change within, and I was unwilling for that to happen.
I closed my eyes, suddenly feeling a headache coming. “Hindi pa nga tapos ito, ginagago na tayo ni Derek Ong.”
“That’s why I had to tell you, Miss Kim.”
I opened my eyes, suddenly remembering something. “Alam na ito ni Mama?”
She shook her head, her eyes trained on me. It was ironic – she was older than me by more than a decade, but she looked as if my every word weighed in more than my mother’s.
