Dallon swiped aimlessly through apps as Breezy drove down the freeway to where their parents expected dinner. He kept finding himself back on Instagram, looking at this "Beebo" guy's page. There was something about him that kept drawing Dallon back.
"Who the fuck is Beebo?" Breezy asked, peaking over at Dallon's phone when they were rested at a stoplight.
Dallon snapped his head up from his phone. "What?"
"The guy you're going googly eyed over." She said, pointing to his phone.
Dallon laughed, nervously. "Oh... I don't know."
A smirk crossed Breezy's lips as the light turned green. "A potential?"
"Potential what?" Dallon asked, scratching the back of his head.
"Dally, don't play dumb." Breezy laughed, "You've got that look like you've locked on target. Why don't you talk to him?"
"Breeze, he could be a serial killer or something." Dallon said, shaking his head as he clicked to his home screen. "Besides, he doesn't even list his location."
"So, you checked?"
"Breeze!"
"You opened the door!" She giggled, "I think it would be nice for you to find another guy... I mean, after Josh-"
"Can we not talk about Josh?" Dallon asked, almost silently.
Josh had been Dallon's first boyfriend back in highschool. Things had been fantastic between them; Dallon had felt so comfortable for the first time about his sexuality when he was with Josh. Sadly, as time moved forward, people move apart. Quite literally. Josh had to move right after graduation, and had decided to leave his relationship with Dallon behind as well. Dallon hadn't been in a relationship since.
"I'm sorry, Dally..." Breezy spoke with soft sincerity, glancing over at him before bringing her eyes back to the road. "I just meant that... You're twenty one. It's been so long since high school!"
Dallon shrugged, looking down at his legs. It may have been a long time, but Dallon wasn't sure if he was ready for things to change from what they were now. Things had happened so naturally with Josh, he wasn't sure how to start a new relationship.
"Just think about it?" Breezy only spoke up again once they had parked in the lot for some nice restaurant that Dallon had failed to look at the name of. She reached out and tilted his chin up and in her direction before she offered him a reassuring smile.
Dallon gave a small smile in response. "I'll think about it."
She leaned over to give him a tight hug before sitting upright to open her door. "A new perspective of what a relationship can be is an incredible thing, Dallon." She said as she slid out of the car.
Dallon's head snapped towards her with a perplexed expression. For some reason, her words reminded him of that guy's Instagram bio... He shook of the thought as he pushed his own door open. It was probably nothing...
---
Dallon plopped down on his bed. The sky was dark now, and dinner had long been over. It was nothing more than expensive, small servings and 'encouragement' of a potential relationship between himself and Breezy. Nothing really new.
Dallon rolled onto his side and took his phone out of his pocket. He found himself, for what could possibly be the hundredth time today, back on that same Instagram page. He just felt so drawn to this guy... Maybe he should give talking to him a try...
