It was a boring routine: capture the princess, get beaten by the plumber, capture the princess, get beaten by the plumber. Sometimes the plumber's brother would tag along, but other than that, it was all the same. King Bowser had had enough.

Bowser went to his consultant and royal magician, Kamek, for advice. "Kamek, is there a way that I can get someone to help me capture and KEEP Princess Peach?"

Kamek thought, putting his claw to his chin. "You know... I believe that there's a spell that might help. Let me check." And with that, Kamek rushed to his Grand Book of Spells. Flipping through the pages, the magician found what he was looking for. "Here it is! It's a cloning spell. I haven't used it in a while, though, so there might be some... side effects."

Normally, Bowser would be concerned, and might not even try the spell by this statement. But he was desperate. Bowser sighed. "Let's do it."

Kamek proceeded to do the spell. Bowser was slightly nervous, as this spell would be directed at him, but more than anything Bowser was just hoping the spell would work. He had been losing this game for far too long.

At last, when Kamek was finally done chanting, he pointed his wand at Bowser, sending the magic towards him. There was a flash of light.

When Bowser could see again, he looked around. All he saw was Kamek and what was in the throne room. Then he heard some groaning at his feet. He looked down, and right next to him was a mini-Bowser clutching his head.

Of all things.

"Oh, um... I'm sorry, sir. This was what I was talking about." Kamek apologized. Bowser was not in the mood to have another child. Then he realized. Unlike the other Koopalings, this clone would he as mature as Bowser was. Despite his size, he would be a great strategist, just like Bowser, and all the other great qualities.

The clone stopped groaning, and let go of his head. "To avoid confusion, I think I should have a different name." The clone said.

"Agreed." Bowser replied.

"May I have the honors of doing so?" Bowser nodded. The clone took in a deep breath, rubbing his hands together. "Alright. How's about... Fowser. Yeah, that'll do."

Bowser wanted to see how Fowser would do in battle. Bowser had full confidence in him, and this would just be a warm up for Fowser. He took Fowser to the arena.

Bowser was wrong. Instead of fighting the troops, who were dressed as Mario and Luigi, Fowser chatted with the targets, getting to know them, and soon making inside jokes. Bowser pulled Fowser aside, wanting to have a little talk with him.

"Look, Fowser, I appreciate that you don't want to hurt your teammates. That is fine, and shows loyalty. But right now, I want to see your fighting skills. Pretend that this is REALLY Mario and Luigi, and that after them beating you again and again, you finally have the chance to eliminate them. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir. I'll do my best, sir." Fowser said, saluting with a look of uncertainty.

Fowser then walked over to the Koopas. Out of nowhere, he came charging at the dressed-up Koopas, right fist outward. With a loud clash, Fowser's fist met "Mario's" stomach, or at least what was covering it, sending the Koopas flying into "Luigi". They both lay on the ground, motionless.

Immediately, Fowser went to apologize, and, seeing that they were badly injured, called for the medics. Four of them rushed in with two cots, carrying the training targets away. Fowser followed them, with a very worried face.

After some time, the doctor said that they would heal in two months.

There were a couple more sessions like that, although Fowser was much more careful. And, despite the damage that he did, the injured Koopas were okay with it. They understood that it was an accident.

And soon enough, Fowser was ready. All that needed to be done was for Bowser to come up with a plan. Fowser wasn't to do anything with it.

So, instead, Fowser played with pretty much everyone in the Koopa kingdom. And sometimes beyond. This never really was a problem.

Until Fowser was caught playing with Mario and Luigi, as well as a few Toads.

No one knew what to do, or even think, and when Bowser found out, he was furious. "WHAT?!" Shouted Bowser as he rampaged down the royal hall.

Kamek followed him, bouncing along with each step. "Tha-that's what we found, sir. I think Fowser might be a-"

"TRAITOR!" Shouted Bowser, crashing through the main entrance. He went to the comm room. "Attention, all Koopas." Bowser's voice blasted through the loudspeakers. "I want everyone searching for that traitor, Fowser, NOW! I don't want him captured! I want him DEAD!!! Get moving!"

Frantically, everyone got to their stations, and after a minute, the entire Koopa army went after Fowser.

Fowser, in the meantime, was completely unaware of this. He knew he wasn't supposed to be hanging out with these particular people, but he always enjoyed making friends, no matter who they were. Mario wasn't really doing anything. Actually, he looked sore. But everyone else was tumbling along with Fowser. Even the princess came to play.

It was all very fun. That is, until they heard a marching in the distance.

Fowser went up the hill to peek.

He saw the largest army he had ever seen. Quite possibly the world's largest army.

Fowser went over to see what was wrong. "What's the problem, fellas?" He asked, but as soon as he did, a couple of Koopas shouted to get him. And then the whole army went after Fowser.

Fowser didn't understand why they were after him, but now wasn't the time to ask. And he wasn't about to hurt his friends. So he ran. And ran quite a large distance, as well.

Fowser decided to go back and negotiate.

That failed. He tried being stealthy. That failed as well. Everything he tried to do failed against the mighty army, and almost got him killed each time.

Pretty soon, there was only one option left, and Fowser wasn't at all too comfortable with it: to fight back. And he knew how damaging he could be. But he had to try. Maybe he could scare them off.

Though they were scared when Fowser started fighting, none of them backed off, even though Fowser was still continually sparing them. Even though their lives were at risk, they held their ground.

And, with ultimate regret, Fowser blasted through the army. He was going to get some answers.

It took him a while to get to the Koopas kingdom, as he started out pretty far, but eventually Fowser got there.

And as soon as he did, a very large Bowser stood in front of him.

Looking up awkwardly, Fowser asked, "What's with everything trying to kill me? What did I do?"

In a very dark voice, Bowser replied, "You are a traitor. You were found socializing with the enemy, and now you must be punished!"

Fowser backed up, putting his hands in the air. "I don't want to fight," he said nervously.

Bowser hesitated, having a look of sorrow and pity. But quickly, he shook it off. "You fool! DIE!!!" Bowser smashed his fist at Fowser, who managed to roll to the side.

"Please, I don't want to fight. Can't we just talk this over?" Fowser said, dodging another attack.

"Stop talking and just FIGHT already!" Bowser shouted, breathing fire at Fowser.

"I won't fight you." Fowser said after avoiding the fire by hiding behind a pillar.

"Then stay still!" Bowser shouted, bringing down the main entrance. Fowser rolled out and under Bowser just in time.

They continued like this for some time. Eventually, they both were very tired. Too tired to fight, they collapsed on the ground, napping next to each other, each being cradled like a stuffed animal by the other Koopa.
