Magnus was kind of freaking out.

He knew that this was probably just a fun activity Annabeth had organized to show him and Ales around New York and have them get to know her friends.

But this was Annabeth. She always knew something he didn't. He had no reason to think tonight would be any different. Magnus had woken up only around 30 minutes after his talk with Will, and had wormed his way out of the bed with Alex(as inviting as it may have seemed to stay in) and decided to go hang out with Annabeth. She was the whole reason he was here.

Annabeth was in the Aphrodite cabin, talking to Piper. As soon as he walked in, every head turned towards him. It was more than uncomfortable. Piper told them to mind their business, and they all looked away, but Magnus had a sneaking suspicion that they were still stealing glances at him.

He sat down on the bed with Piper and Annabeth.

"What's up, Magnus?" Annabeth asked, leaning back on the bed. Magnus rested his back against the bedpost, his head hitting the bunk above them. Piper snorted at him.

"Nothing much. I just wanted to talk about tonight. Will didn't really specify much other than we were going to hang out in New York, and he was only going to take Nico on a date."

Annabeth nodded thoughtfully. "That does sound liked the kind of thing he'd do," She said. Piper nodded.

"Well, anyways, I was mostly wondering about how everyone else felt about hanging out with us, Alex in particular. I couldn't really tell if they were okay with the whole gender-fluid thing," He said. Piper started fiddling with a blue feather in her hair. Annabeth sighed.

"I think it's just knew to most of them. Alex seems like a lot of fun. I'm sure they'll grow on them," Annabeth said, trying very hard not to use a gender specific pronoun. Magnus had to refrain from grinning.

"It's "she" right now. At least, as far as I know. Either way, it didn't seem to make sense to some of them. I was just hoping you could tell them not to be too invasive if they can help it? Alex has gotten enough shit for that, even though it really isn't that big of a deal," Magnus said, readjusting himself so that he could rest without his head hitting the top bunk. Annabeth and Piper both nodded.

"Of course. But, let Alex know, if they don't say something stupid about that, they'll say something stupid about something else," Piper said, and Annabeth grinned, as if thinking about what Percy might say to that accusation. Magnus smiled. He was happy for his cousin. Although, Magnus never would have thought an idiot with a hero complex would have been her type. Magnus preferred lethal until proven lethal, with a splash of green hair dye.
