Magnus wanted to pull his hair out.

He was trying to focus on Annabeth and meeting her friends, but his attention kept getting drawn back to Alex. She had attempted to climb the climbing wall on the way to lunch, and gotten scorches all over her outfit, so she went to change. Magnus had never hated and loved an outfit so much.

She was not wearing blue skinny jeans that made her hips stand out even more than they already did. She was wearing a pastel purple tank top with arm holes that went all the way down to the bottom of her ribs. Oh, and also, she wasn't wearing anything under it. And it was partly see through. She had also brushed her hair out, causing it to poof slightly, giving it a very attractive amount of volume. Her green hair really brought out her multicolored eyes. Or maybe it was just her face in general. Or her entire body. Yup, Magnus was screwed.

She also wore her regular rose high tops, and Magnus was both glad and infuriated that Alex had decided against wearing a pair of heels she had packed for practicality considering she would probably be moving around a lot today. However, she had tried them on first. In front of Magnus. Magnus never knew he had a thing for high heels, but on Alex...

Nope, stop it. She is was his friend, and he did not want his head removed from his body any more frequently than it already would be just from knowing Alex.

Luckily, nobody else seemed to notice his dilemma, which he was grateful for. The demigods at this camp seemed like the kinds of people who didn't take crushes lightly. Not that that's what this thing he had for Alex was. No way. He does not  have a crush on Alex Fierro. Except that he kind of totally did. He was so fucked.

He decided to try and focus on the conversation again. Magnus and Alex were sitting at a table with Annabeth, Percy, Nico, Will, and a couple new comers who Magnus had been introduced to when he sat down. There was Jason, apparently a son of Jupiter, Piper, Jason's girlfriend, a daughter of Aphrodite, Hazel, who happened to be Nico's sister, only instead of Hades, she was the child of his roman form, Pluto. Her boyfriend was Frank, a big burly guy, who looked intimidating, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he seemed no more dangerous than a bumble bee with a fear of confrontation, so it was kinda hard to picture that he was a son of Mars. Then there was Leo. Considering how often he spontaneously caught on fire, Annabeth didn't even have to tell him that Leo was a son of Hephaestus.

"So, you're Annabeth's cousin?" Jason asked, looking at Magnus from over his glasses. Magnus nodded and Jason cocked his head to the side.

"What?" Magnus asked. Jason shrugged.

"Well, it's not that you look different. I know what it's like to have a sibling you don't look like, but you're just not as..."

"Smart?" Magnus finished. Jason choked on his food, causing Piper to laugh before hitting him on his back. He quickly rushed to apologize.

"It's fine. I mean, my mom isn't a goddess of wisdom, so I don't really see how I can keep up with Ms. Wise girl over here," Magnus said, gesturing to Annabeth, while simultaneously making fun of her nickname. Annabeth glared at him, and Magnus got the feeling that that was something only Percy was allowed to call her. Alex snorted.

"Please. Like your name is any better, Maggie," She said, dragging out the word. He wanted to glare at her as menacingly as Annabeth glared at him, but just looking at her mad that "glare" turn into heart-eyes, which he hoped he hid well. Her eyes were glittering with mocking, which was a good look on her considering her father(or mother, whichever you prefer), her mouth turned upward in a smirk that was bordering on extremely attractive, leaning forward so that her flowing purple tank top went forward just far enough that Magnus could see her chest, although only from his angle, so nobody else could. She didn't have any tissue there(boobs, boobs is what this is describing) even though she could if she wanted to. Her green hair was partially tucked behind her ear, though some of the strands brushed across her face. Magnus realized he was staring in more of an awestruck way than a glaring way. He decided to look away from her entirely, and back at the group of Greek and roman demigods, most of which were trying to contain laughter.

"Maggie? Really. Man, and I thought Will referring to Nico as death boy was the most disgustingly cute nickname I've ever heard," Piper said, to which Nico shot a glare at her that would make Annabeth proud and made will grin with pride. How the Helheim did those two end up together?

Magnus just shrugged and tried not to look at Alex too much anymore.

"So, dude, how did you and Magnus become friends?" Leo asked. Magnus saw an angry look flash across Alex's face out of the corner of his eye.

"I'm not a dude. At least, not at the moment," She said, maintaining a perfect cool facade, although Magnus knew how much it had bothered her. He wanted to comfort her, but figured that was the opposite of what she wanted right now. Leo just stared.

"But, you don't have-"

"I swear to every god that may or may not exist, if you say it, I'll snap your neck, and I don't care if you come back or not after you die," Alex snapped. Leo flinched at her harsh words and mumbled his apologies. Nico just snorted. Apparently Alex not being a dude at the moment, and the prospect that she might be a dude as some other time, didn't affect him that much. Everyone else at the table seemed cool with it, although that may have been because of the fear Alex had installed in them over the course of one meal. Nico seemed to sense that too.

"You know, maybe I was wrong about you, Fierro. Maybe you aren't as nosy and annoying as I thought you were," Nico said. Magnus saw a couple heads turn towards him as if to ask whether or not he was insane, but Alex laughed light-heatedly.

"Yeah, and I guess maybe you aren't as much of a lame emo nerd as I thought you were," Alex said, in a way that made Magnus think it was a compliment. He couldn't help but smile a little bit. Magnus had been worried that Alex wouldn't find anyone she would get along with considering how abrasive she could be at times, but luckily, she had found someone with a similar personality. With any luck, Magnus could get Nico and Alex to hang out the entire week so that Magnus didn't have to deal with the whole small ordeal of possibly having a massive crush on one of his friends who would not even flinch at decapitating him.

But, Magnus never had much luck with... well, luck.
