Major Characters: Nebraska, Sabrina

Nebraska' POV

"You're lucky I convinced your boyfriend to go help Drew otherwise we wouldn't get any girl time," Sabrina said, holding Jason close to her. Other the past few months we've been here, Jason has really gotten close to everyone around here.

I have too. I no longer was suspicious or cautious around Levi and Drew. Sabrina has become my new best friend, and she really reminded me of...

Well you know.

"Yeah, finally some breathing room," I joked, sitting down on one of the chairs in front of the bed. I was in one of the master rooms were Sabrina and Drew stayed.

"You know, Jason can really pass off as your kids," Sabrina said, smiling at me.

I blushed and turned away. "He's my younger brother, not my kid. Besides, I want my first kid to be a girl anyways," I told her.

Her eyes widened. "He didn't tell you?" she asked.

Huh? "Tell me what?"

"Braska...you can't have kids."

That was...interesting. "What? Please explain?" I said, rubbing my forehead.

"He's a born vampire and you're a turned vampire. Your body, while full vampire, is already damaged enough on the inside from turning to a vampire. Don't take that the wrong way your body is functioning fine. It just means that your body is under a lot of stress. Having children will only stress your body out even more," she explained.

I can't...have children? Tears welled up in my eyes and I quickly wiped them away. I wasn't planning on children, not for a really really long time, but I did want one. Being told I wasn't capable of having one...it hurt.

"What about you?" I asked.

"Well you know how I'm a dhampir? My blood is really deadly to other vampires. If a child even gets one tiny sip of my blood they die. I don't think a child will survive growing in me," she said. Though she smiled, I could see how that hurt her a little.

"Looks like Jason's all we've got," I said, looking at the little guy playing with some cards that were on the floor.

"Hey, wanna know what cheers me up whenever I think about never having kids?" she said.

"What?"

"If you think about it, you can go at each other like bunnies and not have to worry about protection."

....

"I'm leaving," I said, flustered running out of the room. I heard her laughter behind me as I ran to my room and leaned against the door.

Oh wow that was embarrassing!
