Major Characters: Damn near all of them

Nebraska's POV (these have been from her POV because these chapters were bonus scenes from Forever Mine)

I was leaning against one of the trees in the forest. Deciding it was best to listen to Layton, I made sure not to go that deep. The deepest in the forest I could go is where I could see the castle and someone standing outside of the castle could see me. I felt a little exposed but I wasn't about to argue with Layton knowing what kind of mood he was in.

Not sure what happened, but apparently they were expecting a guest to arrive sometime soon. Apparently it was Brandon's brother or something, I'm not sure. I only got a little bit of the picture since everyone was in a rush to get everything in order.

Despite being with Layton, I was still left out of a lot of things. Not going to lie, it kinda stung a little that they would leave me out of something when everyone knew about it. All I know was that the guest was related to Brandon.

I wrapped my arms around my waist and looked out into the forest. Since I wasn't allowed to venture deeper by myself, and everyone was too busy to come with me, I don't know what's out there.

"Why so quiet?" I turned around and saw Layton crouching down next to me. He looked a little bit stressed out but I could tell that he was really trying to hide it.

"If you need to rest, then go. I'm not going to stop you," I told him, turning back around.

I felt him wrap an arm around me and pull me closer to his body. "I'm not going anywhere. Why are you out here and not in the castle? Sabrina was looking for you earlier," he said.

"Surprised she even realized I was gone," I muttered, turning around to face him again.

His eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about everyone always leaving me out of things! I don't like seeing everyone stressed out over something and not knowing what that something is. It's like you guys have your own secret language and I'm not included in it. Just because I'm the only turned vampire in here doesn't mean that you guys can just brush me off to the side," I let out.

Layton was silent for a few seconds. "You're not the only turned vampire in here," he said, sitting down on the ground.

"What do you mean?" I asked, before my eyes widened. "Don't tell me you're adopted!"

"What? No! Look, you wanted to know why I consider Levi as my brother when he isn't related to Drew or Maybelle right?" he asked, while I nodded in response. "Okay, so many many years ago, I was walking in one of the villages when I saw the poor kid. My heart sorta gave out and knowing both his parents are dead, he really didn't have that much of a chance, so I turned him," he explained.

"Levi's a turned vampire?" I asked, feeling shocked. Levi seems so tuned into his vampire senses that you'd think that he was one his whole life. Unlike me, who still struggled with drinking blood despite needing it for survival. "Hm, but then how come you include him in your vampire drama problems but not me?"

He sighed. "I know you're still stressed out with the whole vampire thing. I didn't want to stress you out even more by laying all these problems on you. You were even struggling with drinking blood, I couldn't just lay all this stuff on you and expect you to take it all. I wanted to give you some time to adjust," he explained.

"But you have to understand that I'm already adjusted. It's been months Layton, I think I accepted the idea that I'm a vampire now. So what if I have a few issues with blood, it's been something that I've struggled with since I was young. I want to be included and not just brushed aside," I told him.
