Teenage-ish aged Jason ^^

Major Characters: Jason, Nebraska, Layton

*Nebraska's POV*

"Stop messing my hair up!" Jason groans, pushing my hand away before turning towards his shadow on the wall and doing the exact same thing I just did to his hair. Sabrina recently taught me a trick of using shadows as a mirror to fix minor things like hair.

I roll my eyes but I don't let his attitude stop me from practically bouncing on my feet. From the corner of my eye, I can see Layton shaking his head at me with an amused smile while leaning against the wall away from us.

"I can't believe my baby brother's going to prom!" I squeal, and Jason rolls his eyes before, unnecessarily, putting his glasses on. "I mean...can you believe it?" I exclaim, glancing over towards Layton.

He just shrugs. "Not surprised. He's got your genes after all so obviously he would have every girl falling at his feet," he says, winking at me.

"Eew she's not my mom," Jason groans, adjusting his tie. "And considering we're full siblings we only share about 50% of DNA but the data ranges vary from specific relationships and-"

"Please don't talk about school with us," I groan, already used to his random factoid lessons. "When are you supposed to pick up your girlfriend?" I ask, checking the time to see that he has about an hour to pick up the girl and drive to her school.

Obviously since Jason was homeschooled, for the most part, his whole life the homecoming isn't being held at the castle. Instead, he's going to this other girl's school for her homecoming. Layton was rather reluctant to let him go considering that he's still not sure whether Jason can control his thirst or not but I trust him. Jason's been a vampire for about four or five years now and he started off young so he's used to it by now.

"She's not my girlfriend," Jason corrects. "She's just someone I met at the cafe when Levi wanted to get some girl's number and we started talking and she mentioned not having a date to her homecoming. I offered to ask around if there was a guy that wanted to go with her but she said she wanted me so I agreed."

Layton bursts out laughing while I purse my lips at the story. "You...you offered to go around asking random guys to go to the dance with her?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows.

He nods, not quite understanding what was wrong with his statement. "What? Isn't that the right thing to do?"

"Guess part of the 50% of DNA you guys share is how dense you two are when it comes to people hitting on you," Layton says, chuckling a little. "Anyways, you better head on out now. Drew went off somewhere with Sabrina so you have about fifteen minutes to leave with his car before he notices that it's gone."

"You're right," Jason says, opening a pack of gum from his back pocket and slipping one in his mouth. "I'll be out now."

"Don't crash the car!" I call out, before standing up and following him towards the door. In every teen movie the parents usually see their children out the door before they go to prom so it's fitting that I do that too right? Of course I would never be able to replace our late mother but I don't want Jason to walk out the door by himself.

"Do I look like Braydon to you?" he asks, digging through the bowl of keys before grabbing the one for Drew's car. Drew is going to be so pissed that his car is being used without his permission or knowledge but he can't be too mad considering that it's Jason. I know Sabrina won't let him get mad so that's good.

He gives me a hug and pats Layton on the shoulder before exiting the door and getting into Drew's way too expensive car. I feel Layton wrap an arm around me making me bite my lip while keeping my eye on Jason. He skillfully backs out of the driveway before driving down the dirtroad towards the city.
