Noroi woke up to a loud knocking at her front door. She jumped at the sound. She pulled the covers off of her and went to the door. Noroi looked out her blinds first, she has always been reluctant to open a door with not knowing who's behind it. She looked out the window to see the mail man. He looked impatient. Noroi quickly unlocked and opened the door.
"Hello..." Noroi said with sleep still in her voice.
"Hello, sorry to wake you ma'ma..." He didn't sound like he cared one way or the other. Noroi gave a weak smile and looked at the box he had under his arm. She hadn't expected to get anything in the mail at all. Except maybe bills that she didn't have the money to pay.
"You have to sign for this."
Noroi signed her signature best she could. She handed the clipboard back to the man. He gave her a fake smile then walked away. Noroi held the package with one hand and closed the door with the other. She placed the odd looking box on her table and looked at it with content. It was taped pretty tightly so she went to the kitchen and got a knife. She went back to the table to where the box was and started to cut the top of the box. The tape cut instantly with little noise which was nice. Noroi put down the knife and ripped open the rest of the box with her hands. There wasn't much in the box, all that was in it was a sharp dagger and a letter. Noroi starred in the box stunned at what was in it. She slowly picked up the dagger and put it on the table next to the box. She then picked up the letter and started to read it,
Dear Noroi,
I know you don't know me, and you are not expecting this message. But I need you to trust me. I need you to go to Mt. Everett just outside of your town. Take only what you need to live for a few days. I sorry this so sudden. Please trust me.
Signed,
Kami No Dakuenjeru
"Pssh." Noroi said breaking the silence of the room. "I don't believe this." Noroi always talked to herself. She had no one else to talk to in her apartment. Noroi grabbed her backpack that was sitting by the front door. It contained her phone and drawing supplies. She never left without it. Noroi placed the pack on the table and place the dagger and letter inside and went out the door.
Noroi walked four houses down to her only friends house. His name was Jeremy. He was same age as Noroi, 19. They grew up in the orphanage together, and were kicked out together. They made a packed as kids to always be by each others sides, but recently they were drifting apart. Though they were still good friends. Jeremy had gotten a girlfriend and was building a life while Noroi still had no clue what her life would be come.
When Noroi met Jeremy, she laughed at him. He was the shortest boy in the orphanage. He was scared and cried for a while which made Noroi feel bad. She never liked to be the center of conflict. She said sorry and then they were inseparable.
Noroi knocked on the wooden door and waited for a response. After a minuet the door opened to revel a women that was barely clothes. Noroi couldn't help but stare at her figure. Perfectly hour-glass. Jeremy picked well.
"What do you want?" She said.
The sound of her voice pulled Noroi out of it. "Oh, sorry. Can I talk to Jeremy?"
