It's been three months since our channel started blowing up, we reached a million subscribers last month and since then we've been asked to play at a lot of local bars and county fairs. Tonight we're going to be playing a small arena in the east end of the city, but the expected turn out likely won't be more than 50-100 people. Our little band still hasn't gotten signed yet, but according to Griffin, there might be a few record labels in the audience tonight so we've gotta give it all we got.
It's 6:30pm right now and Chloe, Griffin and I are getting ready to go on stage. I smoothed down the end of the crop top I was wearing and pulled up my high waisted jeans a little, checking myself out in the door length mirror that hung on the wall in front of me. Chloe was doing some last minute touch-ups on her hair and makeup while Griffin looked in the mini fridge to see if there was any snacks. After a little while of waiting around and mentally preparing ourselves for possibly the most important show of our lives, the stage director motioned for us to get on stage. I inhaled deeply and glanced behind me, Griffin looking at both me and Chloe and giving us our cue to start playing our first song of the night. As we played throughout the show, I looked around the arena to see if I could spot and obvious record label people, I didn't see anyone like that and I would be lying if I said I wasn't just a little disappointed.
We played for about an hour and a half before it was time to go. Griffin and Chloe got up from behind their instruments and came to join me at the front of the stage, we all joined hands and took our bow before exiting from the opposite side of the stage like we were instructed to earlier. As I walked over to the cooler to grab a bottle of water, I heard footsteps approaching me. I assumed it was Chloe and grabbed a second bottle to give to her, but when I turned around, who I saw wasn't Chloe. Stood before me was a guy who looked to be in his mid to late thirties and wasn't too tall, "Hi, I'm Jeremy Willson. I'm a producer at Fueled by Ramen and we as a company are thinking about signing you three to our label, what d'ya say?" he proposed happily, with the friendliest smile if ever seen on a person. I looked behind be and motioned for Chloe and Griffin to come to where Jeremy and I were standing. The duo came right away and looked at me and Jeremy. "Guys, this is Jeremy.....he's a producer at fueled by ramen." I said, trying to hide the obvious excitement in my voice. "Oh....um..wow." Griffin replied, looking to Jeremy and extending his hand out to shake. "Griffin Jones, drummer. Nice to meet you, sir." Griffin introduced himself nervously, Jeremy introduced himself to the twins and they all shook hands.
Griffin, Chloe, Jeremy and I decided that we would meet at his office on Sunday to properly discuss what we want as a band and decide if we wanted to sign with FBR or not. It was Saturday night and I was hanging out in my apartment with my sister, Kalel who had been visiting for the past couple of days. We talked about the band and just regular sister stuff, she was getting married in a few months and we talked about her honeymoon plans and how we should go dress shopping for me 'cause I was going to be her maid of honour and we still haven't gotten dresses for all four of the bridesmaids. "So how's your band doing?" she asked curiously. "Pretty good actually, we're meeting with a record producer from fueled by ramen tomorrow." I replied proudly. She looked at me with a shocked expression on her face, "TATUM, do you know how big this could be for you guys?!" she said excitedly, holding on to my shoulders and shaking me dramatically. "Wow, you're right. I guess I just haven't let everything sink in yet." I replied, everything suddenly coming to me. "OH MY GOSH MY BAND COULD POSSIBLY BE GETTING SIGNED TOMORROW." I exclaimed ecstatically, pulling my older sister in for a giant hug.
