Casey and the band entered the VIP area and the place was buzzing. She once again spotted Nancy from Rolling Stone so she decided to have a chat with her.
"You guys order in some drinks and mingle. I'll be right back." she told the band and approached Nancy and the writer.
"Hi, glad you both made it. So what did you think?"
"Hello Casey, great show I must say. I'm delighted you convinced me to come. They are a really good looking bunch aren't they!" Nancy replied, clearly a bit buzzed from her drink. "This is our new writer Blake."
"Hi Blake, nice to meet you." Casey said as she shook the nervous newcomers hand.
"Hi, you too. This is dope as hell. I've been here before off course, but this was something special. I'm totally in to Guns N' Roses now. I can't wait to write the article!" Blake said positively beaming.
"Cool man, yeah I'm pretty into them myself. They won me over straight away. I don't think I've ever booked such an unknown band on a busy night like this before." Casey said hoping to get mentioned in the article. Being a well known name was good for business and she always wanted to do better for herself and the club. "Go and talk to the band if you like. They're right over there." She continued and pointed at the guys. As she expected they didn't take her up on the mingle suggestion and we're all seated in a booth loading up on drinks. Except for Steven, who was so star struck by all the rock legends surrounding him. Right now he seemed to be showing Steven Tyler an impression of him dancing on stage. Casey instantly bursted out laughing, meanwhile Nancy and Blake gave her confused looks. "Sorry guys I just saw something funny. Rock on." She said and headed towards Steven.
"I see you've met Steven and Joe." She said to the blonde drummer while smiling as to say hello to the two Aerosmith band members. "Sup guys?"
"Hey darlin, you look absolutely fantastic. Drummer boy here has been talking you up right until his impression of me. Actually quite impressive." Steven said and greeted her with a hug.
"Thanks hun, yeah it was almost like I was looking at you." She said ironically.
"Great turn out tonight. I have to admit I wasn't expecting much." Joe filled in.
"I'm hurt." Casey responded pretending to be offended and put her hand against her chest to look chocked. All four chuckled a bit.
"Need to skadadle, people to meet." Adler suddenly bursted out and in one second he was gone. Casey figured he'd seen another one of his idols.
"Very upbeat that one." Casey established.
"Extremely." Steven agreed. "So what's up with you darlin? Got a boyfriend yet?"
"I'm available." Joe pointed out flirting.
"Thank you very much for the offer you handsome man but I'm not really looking for a boyfriend at the moment." Casey smiled.
"Doesn't have to be as a boyfriend, I'm available for all sorts of things." He continued putting his arm around her.
"Slow down on the vodka man." Steven said with a cheeky smile and proceeded to take Casey's hand in his. "I'm also at your mercy darlin if you'll have me." Casey knew that both of them weren't really serious but she still enjoyed the attention. Joe was married and she'd known both of them for ages. She did have a huge crush on Joe when they first met though but she had never told him that.
The moment was over abruptly when she felt a hand on her shoulder, pulling her slightly back.
"You two need to leave my girl alone. Clearly she's not interested in two old dudes like yourselves." "Fuck, Tommy, super drunk Tommy."
"Tommy first of all, calm down. And secondly I'm not your girl. I haven't been your girl since you cheated on me years ago."
"We don't want any trouble man. She's an old friend." Steven said, not wanting to cause a row.
"Yeah, then why do you have your hands all over her." Tommy spit back.
"Tommy seriously chill or I'll have the bouncers throw you out." Casey said sternly, getting more and more mad.
"Fine I'll leave you to it. Fuckin user." Tommy said and grabbed the bottle standing on Steven and Joe's table as he walked away.
"Sorry about that." Casey said embarrassed.
"He's he one who should be sorry. What a douchebag." Joe said as he slightly rubbed her back to comfort her.
"Funny, that's what I always call him too." She said and scoffed slightly.
"Let's not let this ruin a perfectly good evening. To the bar!" Steven announced and both Casey and Joe nodded in agreement.
Three shots and a couple of beers later the whole group was rather drunk and Tommy had thankfully retreated to a table in a corner where he was talking to some blonde, who seemed not at all bothered that he totally ignored her. Casey's mind started wandering towards a certain tall base player whom she had some unfinished business with. Determined to find out more about the beautiful man she parted with Steven and Joe.
"I'll be back later guys, I need to go find someone."
"Ooouuuhhh, heads up gentlemen, Casey's on the prowl." Steven said with a cocky smile. Thankfully he said it low enough for no one else to hear, so Casey just found the remark amusing and somewhat endearing.
She turned on her heel and began browsing the room, which was pretty packed with people at this point. Sure enough she spotted Duff, not it the manner she wanted though. He was fully making out with some chick. "I just proved my own point tonight I think. Shit gets messy." She thought to herself, feeling very disappointed. On that note Casey felt she'd had enough of action for one night and retreated home. A bit sad but mostly happy, the night had after all been a massive success.
Casey wasn't to surprised when the newest issue hit the stores a couple of days later with Guns N' Roses at the top of the reviews page. The headline read 'From now on you're girl will want some Guns with her Roses' and the band got a top review.
