Chapter 2: Guns N' Roses

                  

During the five years Casey had spent working with the gigs at Strip she had booked pretty much every popular rock band in the business once or twice. She'd even discovered a few. She didn't just spend her time in an office at Strip calling different managers to set up gigs with already popular bands. She had made a point to go to the smallest pubs, clubs and even high school concerts to find new talent. That probably what got Strip the reputation it had of being the best rock club in LA, you didn't always recognise the acts or the songs but you could always count on the quality of music being on top. Casey had recently heard of a new band with Axl Rose as the singer, called Guns n' Roses and they were playing at a small club in downtown LA tonight. She had admired Axl since she first heard him sing at a party about a year ago and paired up with a bunch of people Sebastian had met before and praised to her, this band should be interesting. After making sure everything was in order at Strip she got home and changed and headed to the venue. It was a wednesday night and they rarely had anything booked on that day at the Club, so it was prime time for sussing out new bands or taking the night off.

"Do you know where you are?!" Axl screamed in the microphone and the band started playing Welcome to the Jungle. "Jesus Christ this is AMAZING." Casey thought to herself and swayed to the music. The crowd concisting of only about 50 people were going crazy and Casey realized that theese guys are someting special. The band sounded and looked great. She'd always found Axl really sexy but her eyes kept landing on the blonde guy playing the base and she spent more than half the 40 minute show watching him play, almost mezmerised. When they finished the quickly snapped out of her trance and finished her beer. The guys headed straight to a table and Axl whent up to the bar where Casey intetcepted him.

"Hi my name is Casey and i run the club Strip on Sunset, you guys were awesome up there." Casey said and shook Axls hand.

"Wow I'm happy you enjoyed it, yeah I recoqnize you, I mean I didn't know you run that place but I've seen you there a bunch of times. I could never forgett a face as pretty as yours." he said and smiled in that sexy Axl way. Casey smiled and ordered another beer.

"Oh I'll get that for you, wanna join us?" Axl said and nodded towards the table where the guys were sitting. Steven was bothering Izzy and Duff by drumming on their heads with his drumsticks.

"Sure." she said and they walked over to the table with a bunch of beers and a bottle of vodka.

"Holy shit Axl who is she, I wanna call dibs." Duff said the second he layed eyes on Casey.

"Shut up Duff, this is Casey she runs Strip, Casey this is Slash, Duff and Izzy and Steven." Axl said pointing at his band members.

"Nice to meet you guys, I really liked your preformance."

"No way, you run that place? I'd do anything to have a gig there." Steven said, clearly impressed.

"Well that's interesting." Casey said with a smile. "Cos I have a proposition for you. I want you to play at Strip on Friday, I know it's short notice but the band that was gonna play had to cancel. It's one of our most crowded nights and we usually have more known acts, no offence, but I think you guys would be a big hit."

"We'll do it!" the whole band practicly shouted at once.

"Well here me out first. You will be playing for free since I only pay the big acts. You'll get all the food and booze you like from the kitchen for free though. And I DON'T accept bands being late on stage." Casey said with her business voice.

"That's still a better deal than we got here and oh my god guys, imagine playing to all those people." Steven said, almost jumping in his seat.

"Cool deal." Slash said and smiled at Casey.

"Sweet, well do you wanna come with me there after we finish theese drinks? Wednesdays are a bit slow usually so I can show you around." Casey said, noticing Duff kept staring at her with a dreamy look in his eyes.

"Yeah totally, thanks beautiful." Axl said and gave Casey a high five.

The gang finished their drinks and after a quick cab ride they arived at Strip. Everyone exept for Casey and Axl were already pretty drunk at this point and jumping around. As soon as they entered the venue Slash and Duff jumped up the stage and started playing air guitarr. Casey laughed as she looked at them and felt really excited, most acts she worked with don't see preforming on that stage as such a big deal. Some of them already go on tours and play in big stadiums, so why would they. But these guys all looked like kids on Christmas morning.

"Hey guys, wanna go backstage?" she yelled at the guys, who were now arguing over the best way to stage dive. Duff and Slash emediatly jumped down and followed Casey and the other guys to the back.
