His Special Mate

Chapter 17: Lilian

I woke up to an empty bed. I was disappointing that it was empty but I bet that was due to the mate bond. As I got up to leave the room I heard the water running and something in me wanted to join him but I fought against it and decided to get dressed instead.

I chose a light pink t-shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans with a pair of sneakers to wear. Which normally I barely wore pink but this was a cute shade. Great now I'm starting to sound girly. Once again what was wrong with me?

As I arrived into the living the room there was Jason, James, Sage, Daniel and a couple of other pack members I haven't met yet. There was two females and two males, they looked at me with confusion on their eyes. They looked from me to the others then back to me.

''And who might you be?'' Asked one of the females. She spoke with a small attitude to her and no doubt spiteful. She was wearing a fitted black low cut shirt with white pants and boots and blonde no doubt. The smell that caught me automatically made me hate her.

''Sarah be nice'' The guy beside her spoke. He has the same color of hair and the same colored eyes. Her brother.

''John you know she can't'' The other female spoke. She had red hair and wore a spring dress. She spoke to the guy named John but was looking at the other female.

'' Forgive them they don't quite know how to use their manners. That's Sarah and her brother John and that is Blake and I'm Aaron. Now that you know our names what is yours?'' Aaron has a scent to him. He smelt a little like Jason. I looked from him to Jason then back to him. That was Jason's Mate and if I must say he had good taste.

''Lilian I'm... New in the pack'' I stayed where I was occasionally glancing at Sarah. Then to Sage.

''It's okay. Anyway Octavius will be down soon as for knowing about the stray rouge you'll have to take it up with him. Child or not'' Sage spoke. I only noticed two words from that sentence and it was ''Rogue'' and ''Child'' I know what some packs did to rogues including children. I wanted to see that child and maybe help him. That was a matter I'll have to discuss with Octavius. I came to the conclusion where he isn't so similar to my old pack.

''So when will he be down? I mean I haven't seen him in a couple days I-'' I didn't know what it was but I growled and I never growl. I didn't even know why. She stopped and looked at me, everyone looked at me. Causing me to suddenly feel uncomfortable and my old self was back.

''Excuse me''

I went to grab a glass from the kitchen and fill it with water. It was almost gone when Sage came in smiling from ear to ear and stood there in the door way.

'' You growled? At Sarah. Why?'' I'm guessing she knew why but she wanted to hear me say it. I wasn't going to give her that satisfaction.

''Lilian its normal to be possessive I was worse when any un-mated female came around Daniel before we mated. I was buy his side every time one was around him. Now I just hold his hand and kiss him in public to let those bitched know he's mine" she smiled more and then brought her hand up to her stomach. I looked from her stomach to her and found something to change the subject with.

''When are you going to tell him? I'll keep my word but when?'' She went to speak but then crossed her arms catching me.

''Nice try''

I heard Octavius come down the stairs and immediately left the room and went to stand by him. Getting looks from John, Sarah and Blake, Aaron was sitting on the couch arm by his mate having their own conversation.

'' John told me we had a rogue come through our territory and a Child that is. Have you spoken to the child? Is he in the cellar?'' He was comfortable as he spoke. I glanced and seen Sarah looking at him with lust filled eyes and I wanted so bad to tear that look from her face. A smile left his lips as he glanced down at me then continued talking.

'' I'll be there shortly I have a video call to make but after I will attend to the child'' He snapped me out of my little trance bringing me back to their conversation. They all were beginning to leave and not once did Sarah spare me the stink eye while leaving. If it was time for my attitude to change then that was a good time. I couldn't help but look at Octavius who was standing there and I couldn't help but be angry with him to. He actually slept with her. But of course any women or wolf who dressed like that Mated or not would get any man's attention. I suddenly felt insecure and I can't keep this whole bond thing up. I can't tell if it's the bond or the actual feelings and its driving me crazy.

Once they were gone he looked at me with a raised eyebrow then spoke to Daniel about keeping an eye on the kid. As I kept my eye on him.

David kissed Sage and went to where ever they were keeping the kid. Taking Aaron with him. He looked back to me and that's when I just walked away. Not because I was uncomfortable or upset or even terrified I was simply mad at him.

"Lily?'' He spoke as he placed his hand on my arm sounding concerned or confused I couldn't tell.

''Um Alpha why don't you go make that call and Ill... Um... well I'll see to her'' She gave him a look which only made it obvious that she was mind-linking him. He let out a heavy sigh and mumbled ''Shit'' under his breath before walking away. I walked outside and found one of the plastic lounge chairs to sit in.

''Wow you're taking this well" Sage came in and sat in the opposite chair.

''I can't tell if I'm jealous or if it's just the bond. Is it wrong I wanted to tear her head off?''

''No'' she let out a small chuckle and then continued '' You can't tell. I know I didn't but I love Daniel and that's not because of the bond I know that for sure the bond its complicated but the feelings always end up being real''

I looked up at her she had her hand on her stomach as she looked at me.

''I'm just not used to this'' I gestured to the house. ''The pack. Having a mate. Everything'' she smiled at me and took the seat beside me.

''You will. I'm not going to ask why but let me know if you want to talk. Or Octavius he would love talking to you'' When she mentioned Octavius I just rolled my eyes and leaned back looking into the woods.

She let out another chuckle which caused me to look at her.

''Hey I always thought if a female wolf was pregnant her scent usually changed?'' That's what I heard anyways from my old pack. Then again there wasn't much pregnant female wolves.

''It does but I don't want my scent to give it away so I been masking it a little. I want to tell him and not let my scent give it away'' I raised a brow at her and nodded in understanding.

'' How about we tell him over Dinner and make it a little party, just the four of us, that is, I'll have to tell Octavius why'' She looked at me with furrowed brows then soon a smile broke out and she nodded.

This was going to be fun. That is if I can stop being mad at him. Why I was mad I have no idea what he did before us was none of my business but I hated that, that wolf had his scent all over her. And it didn't smell fresh, and it didn't smell old either.
