"Fricking hell young master what is it you're trying to say?!" Jin spat out, already impatient as the young boys were taking eternities to finish up in his kitchen. Not to mention their frustratingly low volumed voices in the background, none of the dialogue could be heard. Jin's sauce pan had also been boiling for a while, making him feel uneasy. Would the meat come out too soft? Would the vegetables melt in the long time he'd left them to boil for? Was he really worrying about his cooking at a time like this?
"This is ridiculous!" Namjoon finally spoke up. "When the hell are they gonna say something we can all hear?!" By nature, Namjoon was a very impatient member of the servants in the Min household, he preferred when things were quick and snappy, waiting was an arduous task for him to part take in. He loathed having to wait for something to happen, and yet he refused to distract himself in any way. Ironically, almost hypocritically, he was awaiting the right time to confess himself.
"HE'S GETTING TO IT SHUT UP!" Minji shushed him immediately after he'd said the last word. Minji had waited a massively long period of time for this, her brother hadn't ever confessed to being in love with Yoongi (until she squirmed it out of him that one night he came out of the young button's room, later than usual), but he talked about him day and night before they both departed to their separate rooms, like Yoongi was the only good subject. He did a very bad job of hiding it.
Jimin often talked about something 'cute' Yoongi had done, late at night when niether of them could sleep the shortest winks. Like spilling soup on the floor while trying to feed himself, but most of the time it was just the little things.
'Have you ever noticed how he furrows his eyebrows when he concentrates?'
'You know, he taps his fingers waiting for the drama to happen in the book.'
'God, it's so cute, Yoongi bites his lip when he gets upset.'
He'd point these things out like they were the most interesting things in the world, like someone could make an entire documentary on the way Yoongi spoke or did things no one ever noticed but Jimin. And that was the most adorable thing of all... when you're in love, you notice all the flaws and small gestures the person does with great ease... it's amazing what you notice.
Minji would attempt to sway the conversation in a different direction, but it always came back to Yoongi, no doubt it was because Jimin lit up when the young master was mentioned in a conversation. It was evident in the way he spoke about the young button, that he was completely and utterly, head over heels in constant love with this insanely gorgeous Min resident. No one could deny it, not even the grumpiest and most dense of maids and/or butlers could fail to notice how smitten and coy Jimin was by Yoongi. And vise versa.
"I'm trying to say..." they pressed their heads harder on the wood of the door, anticipating the best case scenario, they all prayed in the comfort of their own heads, hoping it was good news, waiting what seemed like decades for Yoongi's imminent response. "...I love you too..."
The three stood against the wood of the door in complete shock. Pleasant shock embedded on their minds as they heard what was written in a billion other love stories before this one, but it was incredibly different when you were an artistically obsessed landscape artist, a tragically hopeless romantic twin and a high class chef in the very heart of South Korea, listening to it from the front of the kitchen door. It was much different.
"Did he just...?" Jin felt his voice tremble with joy, almost not believing what he'd just heard on the other side of the door. Everyone knew it was entirely inevitable for these two to finally find the courage to confess, but it was still so surreal. It seemed like too farfetched a thing to actually happen. A young, genetically engineered butler falling for his sickly master, who'd soon take his heart in a literal fashion as well as stealing it romantically. Phenomenons like these really only happened in the confines of TV screens and plot twisting soaps, books and the tall tales of a creative author. Real life didn't really fall into that category, and yet... it was taking place just a door away from the three romantically stimulated residents in the Min household.
"I think he did just..." Namjoon answered, as they detached their ears from the door, after what seemed like centuries of waiting. They stood there, looking at each other, thinking maybe they'd been dreaming and heard something other than those four words in one sentence. Then they realised... none of it was a dream, everything had just fallen into place.
"THEY DID IT!" Minji screamed, grabbing the hands of the two elder males and spinning them around with sunshine in her shoes. She was thriving with excitement and happiness for her brother, it was so good to feel that someone so precious to you had finally found the joy he needed... the joy he deserved after years of repetitive anxiety attacks for the future, tonnes and tonnes of tears that had been sucked out of his lids from the hardship of trying to let go of someone who probably had no interest in him. But today, all those anxious thoughts ended. Her brother had someone who was going to take care of him... until one of them died.
Until one of them died...
Suddenly Minji was filled with a pang of anxiety in her chest, when it seemed like everything was falling into place, it was all falling apart again before anything remotely distraught had even happened. How is all this going to end? She wondered as her screams of elation diminished along with the smile on her face, just as the realisation of a not so perfect ending came to mind. Yoongi would eventually need to have his heart replaced and his chosen donor had already been serving him for most of his life. Already loved him for most his life. Old master Min would never give up his only heir to save a genetically engineered Park, even if it broke his son at the cost of it all...
(+) ok filler chapter! Don't kill me 😅
