Caitlin slowly opened her eyes as someone was pulling her arm. "Oh please Aiden, let me sit here some more for a while." She said softly , still half asleep. "I had such a nice dream of this lady from the past." "She said she was me and ......" Caitlin stopped talking when she looked into a pair of very surprised eyes. "Milady, excuse me for asking, but what are you talking about? The lady in front of her shook her head in disbelief and continued, "The guests have arrived already and milord is not amused that You aren't downstairs yet." "Milady?" She asked again, when Caitlin gave no response to anything she said.

Milord? Caitlin thought. I must be dreaming. She wanted to push herself up from the floor, when she found out that the dress she was wearing, prevented her from doing anything at all. She looked down at her dress and slowly stroke the expensive fabric. "How beautiful" she whispered, when suddenly she realized, she was wearing the breathtaking black dress Lady Ashley had been wearing in her room. "Oh my God!" She whispered. Could it be true? Did lady Ashley take her back into the past? "Could you please tell me where the mirror is?" She asked the lady who helped her up. Again she looked surprised, but she was to well raised to ask her, if she had lost her mind. A maiden like this, would never give any negative comment to a question this obvious.

"The mirror is there milady, in the corner." She pointed. Caitlin looked around the room and suddenly recognized where she was. It was her baby's bedroom, but then 200 years back in time. She had fantasized for years, what her house would have looked like, so many years ago. How it was meant to be, when they originally build it. That she would ever get the possibility to see this for real, was something she only could have dreamed about.

She realized, she had to stop staring, otherwise the lady in front of her would definitely think she had become completely crazy. She walked towards the mirror as elegant as possible to look at herself. What she had already thought about had become reality. She had to admit, she did recognize a lot of her own face, but in the mirror gazed at her, the pale face of lady Ashley, the woman she met in her baby room. "So that's what she meant with, I'm you" Caitlin whispered to her image in the mirror. "Excuse me?" The maiden asked her. "No it's okay" Caitlin smiled and frowned thoughtfully as if the maid's name suddenly didn't come to her mind and asked. "What's your name again?" "Lady Suzanne milady" she answered a bit emotional. "Milady are You sure You are alright?" "We know each other for years and You ask me what my name is?" "I am....I am so sorry Suzanne" Caitlin stuttered. "I slipped and fell over my dress." "I fell against the bed with my head, but I'm fine now." She put her hand on Suzanne's arm and smiled "Let's go downstairs." "We don't want to upset my husband, do we?"

Lady Suzanne bended over to her, pulled her dress straight, tightened the last buttons on her back and put some extra pins in her hair, so it would stay in shape all evening. As finishing touch, Suzanne got out of her cupboard the most beautiful necklace Caitlin had ever seen. The diamonds were breathtaking in combination with the silver and Caitlin felt like a princess when Suzanne put it around her neck. Again she softly stroke the fabric of her dress and whispered "I'm ready to go downstairs and welcome our guests Suzanne." Caitlin smiled, turned around and looked at herself just once to realize she had never felt so beautiful in her life. But then again, she wasn't herself now really. Hmmmm, complicated, she thought smiling. Though whatever was going to happen, she was determined to enjoy this adventure as long as it lasted.

When she walked out of her room she saw a huge chandelier hanging in the hallway. It was exactly like she imagined it would be, when she bought the house. Everything was so beautifully decorated. "When I'm back in my era, I'm going to change a few things" she mumbled to herself smiling. She walked to the top of the stairs, ready to go down when all of a sudden a strange feeling was going through her spine. She looked down and gazed into the most breathtaking pair of blue eyes she had ever seen in her life. His eyes went straight through her, as if he knew exactly what his appearance did to her. She knew she had to go down, but she couldn't stop gazing at him. She felt her body react and blushed. Could he see her blushing?
