After diner the gentlemen went to the "smoking room" where business had to be spoken, while enjoying a good glass of Whiskey or smoke a cigar. The woman sat themselves down in the living room, where the fire was burning and tea was being served as soon as they entered the room. Some ladies talked about their kids and some about the newest fashion they had seen from Paris. Caitlin decided to join the "Paris group". Even now, she didn't wanted to talk about kids. Apparently she had none in this life as well. Talking about fashion was a much "safer" subject.

"Lady Ashley, you saw the latest fashion show, what did you like the most?" Someone asked. The ladies looked her way, anxious to hear what her opinion was. Caitlin had to think real fast about this one. She had practiced the fashion academy in London, so she was suppose to have had enough knowledge about fashion history. "I liked the newest lace from Italy and Spain very much" Caitlin said smiling. "Very elegant and feminine." "The new lines in the dresses, give a more positive accent to the woman's figure." "In the end, the most important thing of a well designed dress is that the woman looks, but also feels beautiful ." "For herself, as well as for her husband." A few woman giggled, thinking about who to please with a sexy dress. Caitlin knew, a lot of them didn't think of their own husband and unfortunately she was one of them. She looked around at the ladies present, smiled and continued  "I suppose you all know what I mean"?! Again some ladies giggled and nodded to confirm how interested they were in a dress like that.

As the conversation between the ladies went on, the lady next to her bended over and whispered "I do understand sweetheart, especially the last part" the lady blinked at her and lay her hand on her arm. Looking at the way she gazed at her, Caitlin realized she and lady Ashley had a special bond together. "If you like, you can join me next week." She asked with a naughty smile on her face. Caitlin looked at the lady who just invited her. "I'm sorry dear, where to?" "I'm going to Dublin as the newest fabrics arrive." "I will take my tailor with me." Again she smiled and blinked at Caitlin. "This way, we will be able to have the newest fashion within two weeks." She looked around at the other ladies and when she was sure no one could overhear them, she whispered "they all want the newest fashion, but not everyone can effort it, if you know what I mean." "Come on Ashley, we always have fun on our trips." "I could use a bit of a laughter." Caitlin liked her. She was different from the other quite boring upper class women. "Okay." "If George agrees, I will join you." Softly the lady caressed Caitlin's arm and whispered "I will be looking forward to it."

"Eliza would you like to sing something for us, dear?" Lady O'Malley asked the woman next to her, who apparently was her friend. Caitlin grinned. So her name is Eliza. Good to know. It would be so weird, if you ask someone what her name is, when she is supposed to be your best friend for years. Eliza sat down behind the piano and started to perform. Her voice was soft but clear and Caitlin loved her tone of voice. She wished she could sing with her, but the ladies present here today would be in shock if she would sing a song, which only would be released in about 200 years.

"Ashley.......Ashley dear!" Oh my, that's me! Caitlin thought shocked. "Yes, sweetheart" she answered. "Would you please be so kind and sing a song with me?" Eliza smiled at her and tabbed softly on the bench she was sitting on. "Yes please" the other ladies yelled. Oh God help me! What if I don't know the songs, Caitlin thought. She stood up and walked towards the piano. "What do you want me to sing?" Eliza mentioned a part of an opera Caitlin new, so she took a deep breath and nodded to confirm for Eliza to start playing. Okay, lets get this over with, she thought frowning.

Without understanding why, Caitlin sung the whole part without even thinking. It went by itself. While singing, Caitlin looked at Eliza and noticed the special glint in her eyes when she gazed at her. She was curious what both ladies had been through together, throughout the years and she was looking forward to her trip to Dublin. The two ladies sounded beautifully together and as the last notes faded away, someone clapped his hands slowly but loud. Caitlin looked up and saw Lord Feehily standing in the doorway. "Beautiful!" He said with a low tone of voice and smiled at her in his special intense way. Caitlin got slightly irritated. Why did this man get to her this way? She just met him, but already she knew every curve of his face. Her heart missed a few beats by looking at him and his eyes made her feel warm in a way, she didn't even knew was possible. No! No! Stop it! She shouted in herself. You're married! To Lord Ashley now and to her sweet Aiden in her era.
