I wasn't calm.
But we carried on.
Let me tell you about the Winchesters: first of all, those 2 are like chalk and cheese. I've already talked a lot about Sam, but there is still so much ground to cover. Sam is the brain of the duo. He was a straight A student all his life and had a lot of potential for a successful career in law. Sam also knows a lot about legends and folklore but when he needs more information he often does research in which he finds great pleasure. No wonder Dean likes to point it out how much of a "nerd" his little brother is. Sam also has a very patient, compassionate, empathic and commiserating personality. These are all great qualities, but as I got to know him better I found the flaws too. Sam is less of a clown. He doesn't joke around and takes everything very seriously. In short: a "buzz kill". He also had this crazy obsession with living healthily by eating organic food, working out on a regular basis and living by a timetable. While he is indeed flexible most of the time he lives around the clock.
Dean on the other hand, he's quite the character. If Sam is a nerd than Dean is a jock and there is no over exaggeration in this statement. The older brother is an empirical guy in the "I believe in what I see" kind of sense. Heavily relying on his experience in every possible way you can imagine. He is also sort of a bully, your typical macho man with an attitude. Dean likes to make fun of situations and people because that's what his humour is like. Poor Sam is the one who experiences it first-hand every day of the week. Not to mention the pranks he likes to play on his brother. But as much as I don't like to see people making joke out of others Dean's witty and at times dry approach usually makes me laugh. Especially the ones that are based on references from movies and alike. And yes, the practical jokes are childish and stupid, but he would never go too far. Family is everything for Dean and if you plan to hurt anybody who's a part of this inner circle don't forget to write your will and your suicide note because he's gonna hunt you down in no time. I guess you already knew that since I told you how he sold his soul just to resurrect Sammy and killed the Yellow-Eyed Demon afterwards.
You'd rightfully think that a man like Dean Winchester is the kind who laughs in the face of fear. Sure, I believed that after we met and a year later too. That's why I was so socked when his weaknesses showed. Who would have thought that he's afraid of flying? I felt so sorry for him when we talked about traveling. Crossing the ocean on a ship would take too long and well there was no other option. The USA and the UK don't share a common border other than that huge amount of water separating the Colonies from the Empire. And it was time to show those Americans what are they missing out on.
I haven't talked about this before but after I married Sam I went back to work. I took some jobs that only required me to stay on the plane for no more than 3 hours. Bobby is not the kind of man who asked for rent and we were low on money and I wanted to pursue a carrier which I wouldn't have been able to do if I dropped out of the sphere after 3 months of leave. Bobby has a friend, lovely fellow named Frank, who can get any special paper you want. He got me a document that said that I have a heart condition, now I'm under medical treatment and that's how my bosses were restricted to put me on a longer international flight. This seemed like a reasonable solution plus I could help the boys out at times by dropping by and delivering goods for hunting.
Since I was back in the hamster wheel I could get some favours and seeing how many people owed me one it wasn't hard to put myself on a plane alongside my "husband and brother in law" for a family trip. With the doctor's approval, of course. And yes, I was working while they were enjoying the flight. Well, at least one of them did. Sam had the time of his life watching his brother's expression whenever turbulence disturbed the journey. The strong and passionate Dean Winchester became a jumpy little scaredy cat every time the flow shook the plane a tad bit. He sank into his chair while grabbing the armrest as if he was holding onto dear life. And it kept going on for over 10 hours. Poor fellow. I took pity on him and gave him a pill that helped him fall asleep for the rest of the voyage.

We arrived at London, got a cab, drove to the flat and took the rest of the day off. The next day I rented a car. Dean insisted on driving but once he realised that the wheel was on the right side and the traffic is flowing in the opposite direction of what he was used to and almost caused a massive accident on the main road he passed down the torch to me. Also, he hadn't had an international driver's license so there is that. I'm not much of a driver myself, may I say I'm about as good as a trained monkey, but we got by with a little help from the GPS. Dean hated the damn thing. He said that it was like riding K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider without personality and knowing when to shut up. (The machine kept interrupting him which was pretty funny actually.) Personally, I missed Hasselhoff's perm but it's not my style, so let this one slide.
We continued our expedition by driving up North where the first victim met her terrible end. This is where things started to turn disturbing and interesting at the same time.
