“I’m going out.” I walked down the stairs and stopped in the living room. “Where are the keys to the SUV?” “In the bowl in the same place they’ve always been.” Riley said. “Okay, thanks.” I said. I started walking to the door when Riley stopped me. “When will you be back?” he asked. “I don’t know. Don’t wait up.” I said. I grabbed the keys and walked outside, slamming the door behind me. I walked to the car and climbed in. I started the car and turned up the radio, letting the loud music drown out all of my thoughts and feelings. Riley and I got into a fight earlier and I was still fuming about it. I know he’s just trying to help me because he cares, but sometimes I want to be left the hell alone.

I backed out of the driveway and started to head to Applebee’s. My phone rang and I rolled my eyes. It was probably Riley still wanting to know when I’d be home. I let it go to voicemail and kept on driving. I wasn’t going to deal with him anymore today. If it wasn’t Riley then oh well. If it’s that important then it’ll still be important whenever I get around to calling them back. I rolled the windows down and let the cool November air float around the car. That’s what I loved about Florida. It may be hot, but that just means I won't catch a cold because I’m driving with the windows down at night in November. My phone when off again and I groaned and pulled it out of my pocket. I was surprised to see Sean Mitchell rolling across the screen rather than Riley McDonough. I hit answer and then speaker and placed the phone in my lap so I could talk on the phone and still drive.

“Hey, what's up?” I asked.

“Where are you, dude?” Sean asked.

“I just left a few minutes ago. I’ll be a little late, sorry; got in a fight with Riley so I’m behind on everything.”

“What's his problem now?”

“Hell if I know.” I said, rolling my eyes.

Sean laughed. “He really hates me, doesn’t he?”

“It wasn’t even about you.” I said. “He’s got no idea who I’m out with.”

“Why didn’t you tell him?”

“Why should I?”

“Good point.” Sean laughed.

“So who all is there?” I asked.

“There’s me, Chad, Elliot, Jarred, and Blair.” Sean told me.

“Blair Matthews?” I asked.

Sean laughed. “Hell no. Blair James. She’s Jarred’s girl.”

“Oh okay.”

“Yeah, so how long till you’re here?” Sean asked.

“I don’t know. I’m stuck in traffic now.”

“Hurry up, man. We’re fucking hungry.” Sean chuckled.

“Order some food then!” I cried.

“Nah, we’re waiting for you.”

I rolled my eyes. “So why are you complaining?”

“I’m not complaining, I’m just impatient.”

“Mhm. Okay. Whatever.”

Sean laughed. “Maybe we’ll just get an appetizer and then we’ll order once you get here.”

“Fine by me.” I told him.

“How long did you say it would be, again?”

“Dude! Just order your damn food!” I cried.
