Chapter 5: We're mates

Ugh,  I had been sat here on the couch all day.

I'm on my way he says.

It was Beta stuff babe he says.

"Why can't he get his butt here right now?!" I scream, pulling my dark hair at it's roots.

"I wanna cuddle!" I stomp to the door to be greeted by Zane.

He pushes past me and goes straight to his room.

"Well hello to you too!" I shout from the bottom of the stairs.

You nearly woke Lilith up! He snarls through mind link.

Sorry I reply before cutting our connection.

The door is then flew open by Alex.

"Are you alright?" I ask him, searching his visible skin for any wounds.

"Yeah I'm fine, but why did you scream?" His perfect eyebrows crease together in concern.

"Oopsies" I say smiling sheepishly.

"Baby?" He asks, soft but firm.

"I may have had a teeny weeny rant"

"About what?"

"Y-you"

He points to himself "me?"

I nod quietly.

"Am I a bad mate?" he asks scratching at the back of his neck.

"What? No no no no- thats not it." I answered pure honesty in my eyes.

"It's just because of all these stupid rogues we can't cuddle or go on dates." I say before climbing up onto his back.

"I understand, how about we put a movie on and cuddle up together, how does that sound Emmie?"

I nod vigorously before shoving him onto the couch and then ploppling myself down onto to his lap.

"Sooooo, what does my Princess wanna watch?" He asks while rubbing my thigh.

"Hmmm, Puss in Boots" I reply.

"We always watch that Emmie" he groans.

I playfully slap his arm.

"Plllleeeaasee" I beg.

"Fine" he chuckles.

Lilith Wood

"Rise and shine" Zane whispers in my ear.

"I'm up already" I grumble.

"Sorry" he mumbles.

"It's fine"

"Sooo, uh why me?" I ask, curiosity getting the best of me.

"What do you mean, ma-Lilith?"

Mate? He keeps on saying mate,  what the hell is a bloody mate?!

"I mean why did you kidnap me?" I growl.

"Well, your smart, beautiful , got a little fiery temper , and the fact that we're meant to be"

I cock my head to the side in confusion.

"We're meant to be?" I ask my voice barely audible.

He nods and climbs into the other side of the bed.

"How though?"

He chuckles and brings me really close to him.

His warm breath fans across my neck causing goosebumps.

"Zane.." I mumble.

All of sudden the door flys open.

I yelp in shock and cuddle into the crook of Zane's neck.

"Crap!  Sorry Luna I didn't mean to scare you" a young boy apologizes.

"It's alright"

"Now Seth,  why did you burst in?"
Zane asks in his most authoritive voice.

"Alpha, theres three rogues outside right now"

Rogues?

Who the heck are these people?!

"Z-Zane" I ask,  my face red.

"Yes?" He turns to me.

"What's a rogue?"

He panicks before turning back to the boy,  I mean Seth.

"Get border patrol to take them to the cells." He says before he cuddles me.

"Yes Alpha" Seth nods quietly before exiting the room.

"What's an Alpha?" I ask, and move around to face him.

"Lilith, uhm well you see I'm not normal"

"H-how?" I ask frantically

"Are you an alien?"

"Close"

I turn to run,  my face showing how mortified I am.

But he grabs my waist and pulls me back to him.

"I'm joking,  I am no alien" he chuckles.

"W-what are you then?" I stutter.

"Let me show you" he chuckles before getting off the bed and standing infront of me.

All of a suden my ears are flooded with cracking and snapping noises.

His bones twist in inhuman ways and his face looks like that of a dog.

When hes finished he stands on all fours.

He has gorgeus maroon fur with tinges of black,  his eyes now a green with golden flecks.

"You're not an alien, you-you're a bloody wolf man!" I scream hysterically.

"Stay back!" I screech.

He turns back and my cheeks heat up.

"A werewolf,  not a wolf man" he chuckles.

"Z-zane" I stutter.

"Yeah?"

"L-look down"

He looks down and chuckles before walking into the closet.

A few minutes later he comes out with shorts on.

"So, Lilith" my name rolls of his tongue like it's been practiced.

"Y-yeah?" I ask cautiously averting my gaze to his eyes instead of his bare chest.

"Promise not to run away?" he asks, concern clearly laced in his voice.

"Okay" I mumble.

"So, werewolves have something called a mate,  it's like their meant to be." He takes  a short breath before continuing his lecture "I am an Alpha so that means my mate will become Luna of this pack and rule beside me, the Luna will also have to bear pups to continue the family- I cut him off eager to ask a question.

"Who is your mate and why is Emerald and her boyfriend here?"

"Oh well Alex and Emerald are the Betas thats the second place in my pack. About the mate thing,  sometimes mates can be human, uhm Lilith..." He trails off, looking nervous all of a sudden.

"We're mates"
