My mind just can't comprehend what is going on, everyone is bowing- to me nonetheless? I kill my boyfriend and this is what I get? I decide that I am just going to yell at them for being all nice to me when I just took a life when something stopped me.
A voice yelling at me, "You idiot. Don't yell at our subjects- although they deserve it, they don't know any better."
I shake my head before muttering under my breath, "Leave me alone, you're just a voice in my head."
"No, I'm not- stop doubting hunny. It's bad. Now repeat after me-"
"Not gonna happen," I snap at the voice making a few heads turn to me from their bowing positions. I smile awkwardly before I turn my head and hide my face in embarrassment.
"I really didn't want to do this, but you've left me no choice. You just can't leave them in this position." The voice sighs.
My eyes widen in shock and I babble out loud hoping the voice would respond, "What don't you want to do?" My voice quivers and before a response comes it almost feels as if I am being shoved into the furthest corner in my mind, unable to interact, just watch. It's like reading a book, being able to react, yet it wouldn't interact with the characters. All you can do is sit back and watch it unfold.
My mouth opens on its own accord and it starts to spill words that aren't mine, "Rise." Everyone stands and they gasp for a reason that is unknown to my spectating mind. "I have returned for one reason. It is not to watch you show me your inventions, your new way of life, or even your government. I have risen to give you one last chance. You all will be given one last chance and no more. Do not fail me or the world shall truly end." With that, it feels as if I am shoved and all of a sudden my mind is again in control. I let out a gasp and I step back. What just happened?
"Host-persona total control take over." The voice informed me. "And please, enough of 'the voice' stuff. My name is Ilyena, Ilyena Irky. But today I am known by my last name, my family's legacy; Irky."
"Well okay, hello Ilyena- wait, hold up. Did you say Irky?" My mouth is open in a flabbergasted motion.
Even if I did know about this, being told it by someone inside of me really brings it into perspective.
"That would be me, but please it's Ilyena." The voice- I mean Ilyena pleaded.
"No can do, Irky. Ilyena is a great name it really is, it's just that people would look at me weirdly if I referred to you as Ilyena. I mean do you want them all to change their entire culture because your name is actually Ilyena and not Irky. You'll be doing your people a favor if I call you Irky. Anyways, what do you mean legacy?"
"We, my family, live quite long. But the time of being a Goddess is tiring, taxing, a harsh life. So when we have enough of it, we look for the appropriate host. We observe them, and then we give our legacy onto them. She, the new host becomes known as the current Irky, their Godess."
"So who's the new Irky?" I ask Irky. The Leaders stand up and they all of a sudden tell everyone to go back to their usual duties. I get ready to leave but they stop me.
"Follow us," Puzzle face tells me. I nod and I just follow them as they gracefully lead me somewhere unknown.
Just as I was about to ask Irky my question again she speaks up, "I'm not sure yet."
I just pipe up, "Well when you find her can you tell me? I can be the official welcoming committee."
"Sure." Her clipped voice responds to me.
"Hey, Irky?" I ask quietly, still following the Leaders, oblivious to where we are going.
"Yeah?"
