I was super nervous for my interview today. I'm an extremely confident individual but still, I was a little nervous. I mean, I'm interviewing to be the assistant to a rather important person in the British government. If the interview went well, I'd have a great job that would look killer on my resumé.

I put on a black pencil skirt, with a purple long-sleeved blouse tucked into it. I put a
blazer over it and wore flats. I grabbed my keys and made my way out of my flat. I flagged down a taxi and gave the cab driver the address. Once the cab driver arrived at the destination, I pulled out some cash from my bra. I handed it to him and said, "Keep the change." He lookedastonished and said, "Thank you miss. This is a generous tip." I smiled and said, "You deserve it. Have a wonderful day." I got out of the cab and made my way into the building, taking a deep breath to calm myself.

I walked over to the receptionist's desk and said, "I'm here for an interview with Mycroft Holmes." She looked at me and said, "Good luck. That man has impossible standards and has turned down every other interviewee. Who knows, maybe you'll be the one person he decides can handle him...Anyway, follow me to his office." She got up, and I followed her to the doors of Mycroft's office. She walked away, and I took a deep breath. I knocked and a voice said, "Enter." I took another deep breath and walked inside. I closed the door behind me and walked to the front of his desk. He looked up from his papers and stood up. He extended his arm and said, "You must be _____." I shook his hand and said, "Yes, sir. That's me." I let go of his hand and took a seat.

After thirty minutes, Mycroft stopped asking questions. I felt the interview went well, but it was still a little nerve wracking to see whether or not I actually got the job. Mycroft looked over my files one more time and then looked back up at me. "You have been by far the most impressive applicant. The job is yours. You start tomorrow at 8 a.m. sharp. Don't be late," he said. I smiled and said, "I won't be late. Thank you so much. I won't let you down." I shook his hand one more time before exiting the room.
