Chapter 17

Ria's p.o.v.

"Uh thanks for that." Ash says weirdly while looking down. She looks uncomfortable so I butt in and say, "thanks for the saving, see you around."

I grab Ash and Hunter's hand and drag them far away with the man still watching.

"Okay what's up?" I say.

"That guy, he was my mate." She says quietly.

Hunter and I stare at each other wide eyed and I automatically touch her back to soothe her.

"That's great sweetie, why didn't you tell him." Hunter says in a concerned mannered.

"Well, we've always had such bad encounters with them, they always run away when we're near. What if he rejects me? I won't be able to stand that, so I don't wanna go into anything that'll hurt me, you know?"

"But you have to at least talk to him because he might take this as a rejection and you would end going through the pain anyway. And if he ever hurts you, we have you back, sweetie." I tell her.

"Okay, I'll talk to him but wait for me here, k?" She walks slowly back to the man as we nod.

Hunter and I know this was a private conversation for Ash, but we couldn't help it so we decided to listen in.

"Hi," Ash says quietly.

"Mate." Says the man

"My name is Ashlyn, Ash for short."

"Ryan," he says fiercely.

You can tell Ash getting nervous but she asks, "So what now?"

"Look I know what you're thinking, you know that I've avoided you for years every time I felt your presence near by. But that was because I was scared, I'm not exactly the greatest dude to have as a mate." I can Ash's heart slowing down, a sign of relief.

"Really?" She asks.

"But I wanna try, my pack needs their beta female." Ash is in clear shock, but then the shock settled into Hunter's mind.

She walks up to them really quickly, "But that means she'd have to leave my pack, she's my beta and I don't think it's fair if you get to bring her into your pack, why can't you come to my pack instead." She says slowly getting frustrated.

"Ummmmmm," Ryan doesn't say much clearly shocked by Hunter's outburst.

Ash looks at him and replies, "That's true, Why would I need to be the beta female of your pack if I'm already beta at my pack,"

"I don't know, id have to talk to my alpha," Ryan says unsure, Ash gets a little disappointed at the fact that he wasn't willing to move packs right away.

"Okay, Hunter, Ash you should have a talk with Ryan and his Alpha, I don't think it's fair for the other guy if he loses his beta, but I don't think it's fair for you either to lose Ash. So go talk with the guy, Okay? And if you guys want I could be mediator and listen to your arguments of who gets the beta couple." I say calmly.

"Okay, call your Alpha right now Ryan," Hunter says slightly glaring at him. Ryan nods and walks away while taking out his phone.

"What do I do? I can't lose my beta," Hunter says side hugging Ash.

"Well then let's hope you and that other Alpha can come up with a compromise or else you don't even get to live at Hunter's pack house anymore."

Ryan walks back and informs us that his Alpha would fly in from America to Italy tomorrow, after he finishes pack business. Ryan has a growing smirk on his face as if he knows what's going to go down at the meet up.

Hunter and I decided that it would be good if Ryan and Ash could hang out for the rest of the day to get to know each other, while Hunter and I go try the food market and go shopping. Can't wait to make my food baby.

We part our ways and Hunter and I head over to Piazza Campo del Palio.
We try so many Italian delicacies that my food baby is about to explode.

"You know this trip is good for us, high school was way too stressful," Hunter says while taking a bite out of her strawberry jam covered pretzel.

"I agree, but I say we go somewhere in Asia next, get in touch with our spicy roots." I say while rubbing my belly.

Hunter laughs at my comment but nods her head anyway. We keep walking down the food market and ended up near a pier where there looked to be a festival with rides. We look at each other as our faces glow up.

"LETS GO!" I scream

"Omg, Ash is gonna be so mad when she finds out we went here." Hunter says as we run side by side to the small roller coaster ride. We purchase our tickets and get on.

"We haven't done this since we were 16." I say as see strap on. The ride begins and so does my adrenaline.

We ended up skipping shopping and rode all the rides instead. Then we watched the sunset on the pier and went back to the hotel by 9. I'm so glad Tito got us the master suite of the hotel, definitely living the life, am I right?

Hunter put on a horror film and I popped some popcorn (I know we're such fat assess) as we wait for Ash to come home. My eyes got so drowsy so I slowly closed my eyes, but before I did, I saw Ash putting a big blanket on Hunter and I with a small smile on her face.

I heard Hunter say, "come on tell me what happened," very tiredly.

"I'll tell you guys tomorrow, goodnight," Ash says quietly

Then I blacked out.
