The Cold - Hearted Assassin

Chapter 1

Ria's p.o.v.

I used to be a happy person, that all changed because of one stupid guy and a dumb thought.

"It all started when....."

Flashback*

"So Ria do you want to be my partner for the scavenger hunt?" asked a 13 year old Axel.

" Sorry, but I'm already in a group, maybe tomorrow for the scary legends?" I replied with a bit of sadness laced in my voice.

"It's alright, as long as you're my partner for the legends tomorrow night." he told me as he flashed me a smile. He jogged to his friends, as I stared dreamily at him. I started developing feelings for Axel ever since we went on this whole week trip.

"Oohhhh, look at Ria falling in love," stated my best friend, Ashlyn, while my other best friend, Hunter just laughed.

"Oh, shut up Ashlyn, one day if you find the right guy for you. Twice the teasing will come to you," I said blushing. "And for you Hunter, you better sleep with one eye open tonight." I threatened her, she shut her mouth right away.

" Anyways, let's go look through the woods, there might be some clues over there?" Hunter said.

The next night*

I met up with Axel outside for the legends.

"So are you ready for tonight?" Axel asked

"I'm a little scared but i'll be fine, but I'm not sure about Hunter and Ashlyn," I replied as I looked over at the two of them. I just see them looking around looking very paranoid that the Cookie Monster might come out of nowhere.

"So let's go." he said as he grabbed my hand, I felt these sparks going through my hand. I looked up to see him looking determined to catch up with the group.

"This is where Mr. Quitton locked his wife till she learnt that she could have a happier life with him here," the class' guide explained. "Though when we start talking about her...." she paused for effect and I knew what was coming "That's when things start to go wrong," she finished. Then the door slammed close.

"Aaaahhhhhhhh!!" I screamed and so did the rest of the of the class. I looked over at Ashlyn and saw her crying, but what was worse to see was Hunter short of breath while crying. I was about to run over to them but Axel hugged me tightly as if I was going to disappear. I relaxed by his touch and forgot about Ashlyn and Hunter for a few minutes.

I looked up and asked him, "Can I go check on Ashlyn and Hunter for a second?"

"Sure, go ahead but come back," he said, I smiled at that thought.

I went back to Axel once I knew Hunter was okay. The guide told another legend which scared me and led me to crying. Then Axel just suddenly hugs me. I felt the sparks going off again which calmed me down a lot.

He raised up my chin with his finger and asked me," Are you okay Ria?" I just nodded.

"Come on cheer up it's just a legend, crying can cause wrinkles," he said trying to enlighten the mood. I ended up laughing so hard I fell to the ground. he could've at least learnt his facts right, but at least he tried and I smiled at that.

The next week after the trip*

" Hey Axel, how is it going?" I asked. Instead of receiving a "good," he looked around and then looked at me. The next thing he said surprised me.

"I don't think we should talk to each other anymore" he said and with that he turned around and left.

Being shocked was an understatement, when I regained composure, the whole thing replayed in my head. Before I knew, I was running down the hall way with tears going down my cheek. I grabbed Ashlyn and Hunter and led them outside.

"Oh my gosh Ria, what happened?" Ash asked while Hunter was rubbing my back.

"Axel is what happened," I said then I explained to them what happened with me and Axel.

"Oh my, that stupid jerk. Come on Ria don't cry. Just don't, it's weird. Once we become what we need to be, show him what he's going to be missing. And if you ever see him again in the future, show him what you will learn and kick his ass. F*ck him, you don't need him in your life." Hunter told me calmly.

Ash and I gasped.

"Oh my gosh, you swore for the first time." I said through sobs.

"I think it's time for me to break out of my shell." she said confidently.

"Yah, but will your parents say once they find out." Ash asked her.

She went pale. "I guess I'll have to face two pissed Spanish parents." she sighed and we just laughed. At least they tried to cheer me up, now I'll know will be stuck together like the three little pigs. Then my thought went back to him. She was right though. I didn't need him, I just need two crazy people to keep me together. And that's all I'll ever need from now on. And food.

End of flashback*

And that is how I became the cold hearted person that I am now.
