Gems Of Fate

A relentless night.

As I went back to my room after dropping off Kiumi at her room I sat on my bed looking at the roof. I couldn't really sleep and so I did the next thing I knew I could do, not sleep. I pulled out my sword, they left it in my care since the weapons where registered to me now. I sat on the bed looking at the blade as the smoky mist seemed to flow off to the floor like a waterfall. "curious blade aren't ya?" I ran my hand across it it felt cold, smooth, and moist as if it just came out of the rain. I couldn't help but watch the mist flow into the diamond shaped holes and the little flashes of small lightning in-between the holes. After a couple more seconds of admiring the blade I slid it back into it's scabbard and lifted the pistol from the holster on my belt. I looked at it as the crazy barrel and shape looked as if the gun was the result of a cannon firing at a pistol and just barely missing it. I gripped the pistol resting my finger away from the trigger as I sighed. "not one for firearms, but guess I kind of don't have much of a choice here." I put the gun safety on and placed the gun in it's holster and put it next to the sword before laying back on the bed. "I know we leave tomorrow...but yet I just can't sleep..." Just as I tried closing my eyes I saw a flash of light outside and got up. I walked to the window and noticed a person sitting by a fire on the deck. "well, at least I ain't the only one who can't sleep.." I sighed and put my jacket on and just as I walked to the door and opened it Kiumi was standing there about to knock. "H-hey, guess every time I open my door, you seem to be here" I smiled a bit looking at her and she was smiling lightly blushing before she wrapped her arms around my neck hugging me. "shiro.." she was whispering as she hugged me, "I.. I can't sleep I feel like something bad is to happen soon...c-can, can I sleep here with you...j-just to see if it helps?" I blushed darkly as I sighed and nodded hugging back. "o-of course, come on in then.." I turned around as she walked in and sighed as I thought to myself closing the door 'guess there ain't gonna be any wondering around the base tonight.' I walked back to my table and placed my jacket on it as I smiled at Kiumi and leaned on the table. "S-so, you want the bed and I can take the couch?" I looked at her as she rubbed her arm slightly, looking down as she spoke. "A-Actually, I... I was hoping we could...you know?, cuddle.." my face started to form a dark shade of red as if it where hit by a tomato. "I-I um, s-sure.." she smiled slightly and kissed my cheek as she laid down on the bed and I got in next to her as she curled up next to me blushing. "Th-thank you" I nodded slightly as she closed her eyes yawning. "of course Kiumi,".

After about what felt like an hour I opened my eyes again, Kiumi was softly breathing as she slept leaning on me. I smiled at her and then froze as I could feel a cold chill down my neck as if someone was breathing on it. When I tried to look around the whole room seemed to disappear, even Kiumi and I was left chained up to a hospital looking bed and I tried to move as I freaked out a little bit. "U-um hello?!?!, Anyone?" after a while of screaming I heard what sounded like a growl as the world went dark again and then I was on the ground in the snow. I lifted myself up a bit and looked around glad that chains where off of me. When I turned around I was met face to face with a wolf who had silver fur, green eyes, and his ears peaked up as he growled at me. "Shiro...I am here to take control." the wolf sat as it stared me down. "U-um what now? I kind of like my control...but just so I know what you mean, you are talking about control over me right?" I stood up looking at the wolf backing up slightly. "Yes of you fool, and there is nothing you can do, you see I am the gem so I am suppose to control you." my eyes widened as I moved my hand through the air. "NO! You have it wrong.. even if you are the gem, we are suppose to work together, we need to" The wolf shook it's head as it stood up changing into a black fog of a human figure. "this coming from the one who doesn't want to kill?? I need to feed so I have no choice, to survive, I must control.." I looked at the figure freaked out. "look, if you don't control me, if you work with me then I promise, I'll get you souls, but only evil people...Like the military leader.." the figure smirked and shook it's head again. "fool, if you can get me a powerful soul like the military commander then I wouldn't need to keep feeding, his soul can complete me to where I don't need to take a bunch of pitiful souls, if you somehow get me a soul like his, then I will become yours to control, I shall listen to you and not take a gem soul unless you give me approval.." "fine, then I will just have to get you that soul.." I stood tall and looked at the figure with a serious face and it laughed before disappearing and speaking. "we will see..." I woke up after that and sat up waking up kiumi who got scared and clung onto me tightly, "w-what's wrong?!?!" she closed her eyes before yawning and looking at me worried. "s-sorry, just a bad dream, but it's ok, I'm better now...let's just try and sleep more.." I kissed her head before we laid back down as she held close to me. "okay..."
