Chapter 12: Trust

Jungkook's POV:

I walked to Baekhyun's room to report that it was a girl named Seohyun. When I walked in I saw Taeyeon collapsed on the ground and a silver pin turned green.

"Put her on my back!" I yelled to the girl who was holding the silver pin. She looked shaken with fear. She nodded and helped Taeyeon onto my back. Without looking to see if they caught up with me I ran to the royal doctor.

"What may I he-"

"She was poisoned!" I yelled setting Taeyeon down. He quickly took her pulse and opened her mouth. Carefully using chopsticks he took something out her mouth.

"Do you know how she was?"

"No, I just ran into a room and found her like this. Is everything all right?" I asked looking away from Taeyeon. His face was uncertain.

"Yes, and no. This is a poison we don't know of very well, but so far we found out that it shouldn't kill..," he said mumbling the last part. Taeyeon's eyes opened slowly.

"Baekhyun..," she said quietly and out of breath.

"Take it easy. She should be fine....," the doctor said again mumbling the end of his sentence.

"Are you okay?" I asked helping her sit up. She stood up coughing.

"Yeah, just feel like going for a walk," she said smiling right away. We walked out of the doctor's quarters and went to the garden.

Taeyeon's POV:

At the garden we found an open passage to a bamboo forest.

"How did you find this place?" I asked amazed at the beautiful surroundings. He shrugged and smiled a little.

"Just from a friend. Tag!" he said poking me and running.

"You just did do that!" I said chasing after him. He was turning a corner of a rock then I tagged him. Quickly I turned the other way and ran.

Thump......... Thump.......... Thump.......

I fell to the ground putting a hand to my chest. It felt like my heart started to slow down.

"Are you okay?" Jungkook asked running to my side. I nod getting up.

"Let's go back to the palace," I say starting to walk back.

*Time skip to at the palace*

"I'll see you later!" Jungkook says running another way. I smile. Then a woman older than me, with clothes that look like a higher rank stands in front of me. I bow my head and look back at her.

"This is my first warning. Stay away from Baekhyun. You'll only get in the way," she says.

"In the way of what?" I ask.

"Just stay away from him," she says walking away. I watched her leave before walking to see Tiffany again. On my way I saw Baekhyun. He looked like he was trying to get away from something. I started to make my way over to him until I saw another girl. She looked like a princess.

"Baekhyun, please," she said softly pulling his arm. He didn't respond. I took a few steps back hesitant on walking over to him. I had this weird feeling on my chest, but it was something I couldn't describe.

I think I should just go back, I thought walking away continuing my path. When I got back to the quarters I saw Tiffany with a pale face.

"Did you miss me that much?" I asked smiling. She turned her head towards me and engulfed me in a hug. I felt something wet on my shoulder.

"I thought you died," she said backing up trying to wipe her tears. I scrunched my nose at her.

"I'm not that weak." She nodded, her tears coming to a stop.

Tiffany's POV:

We walked to the sleeping area and I laid down.

"You know you seem like my little sister when ever she got scared," Taeyeon said moving a piece of hair away from my face.

"I've never had a sister," I respond remember wanting a sister when I was younger.

"How about we make this deal?" she asked looking at me still.

"Deal?" I asked sitting up and looking at her. She nodded her head.

"How about I will be your sister for a while and we'll look out for each others backs?" she asked.

"Yup! It sounds like a great idea!" I responded eager about the idea.

"Then first you should get some sleep," she said fixing my pillow. I laid down and closed my eyes listening to her soft humming.

"How are things going with Baekhyun?" I asked. When she didn't answer I opened my eye to look at her. "Taeyeon? Are you okay?" She nodded and smiled.

"Of course everything is fine! Now should you be sleeping?" she questioned humming again, but a few moments later she stopped humming again and started coughing.

"Taeyeon are y-"

"It's nothing. Just a small cold don't worry," she standing up. "I'll be back. Just going out to get something," she said walking out of the room.

I don't think that it's nothing Taeyeon, I thought drifting to sleep.

Baekhyun POV:

When Seolhyun had to leave for a little bit I saw Taeyeon hurrying somewhere with her hand over her mouth. I followed her until she got to the washing room.

Should I peek in?.... Taeyeon's in there I need to know if she's okay, I thought standing outside the door. Slowly I opened the door a crack and saw Taeyeon. She was facing the other way coughing.

"Wait... Why am I? This can't be right," she said moving her hand away from her mouth. I saw her figure move over to somewhere and water running. When the sound stopped, I heard a thud come from in there. I ran in and over to Taeyeon. She was on the ground with a hand to chest. Quickly I picked her up and started to make my way out of the room. "Baekhyun? What are you doing here?" she asked looking at me.

"I came to look for you, and I found you here," I responded looking back at her.

"I'm okay.... Um.... Can you put me down?" she asked playing with her fingers. Then I realized I stopped walking.

"Yeah, sure," I said setting her down gently. She started her walk back to quarters.

"Who is that princess?" she asked breaking the silence.

"Oh her? My parents want me to marry her, but I love you more," I said taking my hand in hers.

"If your parents ask you to marry her you should," she said with her voice that wavered for a second. I stopped her and turned her to face me.

"Taeyeon, I'll only love you and only you," I said holding her hand again. Once we got to her quarters she went inside.

Taeyeon, she'll never replace you. You are my only one.
