Tenerife Sea (Kageyama)

This is my first attempt at a song fic so bare with me y'all (Also sorry for not updating I've been dealing with personal issues but i hope this makes up for it) This won't be super long but i hope it's still good! please leave reviews or whatever i love you's comments!

You stood outside on the balcony, leaning against the banister to gaze up at the night sky. The light sound of music playing inside was softly heard. You weren't one for dances or crowds for that matter. You preferred to be alone, away from people. The only reason you decided to come was for him and the fact that Yuu and Tanaka practically begged you. Otherwise, you would have stayed home in your pajamas watching some game show re-runs on TV.

The breeze slowly picked up causing your hair to tickle the nape of you neck. You ran your fingers through your (H/C) locks and fiddled with the ends for a bit while staring once again out to the sky. The stars dotted the inky canopy as a crescent moon shone brightly in the twilight. It was a clear night so you decided sometime during the dance that you would come out and try to find the constellations. Wishing you could float among the stars, you didn't hear the soft footsteps approaching  behind you.

Kageyama took your appearance in. You looked absolutely stunning as the moon illuminated your features. Your (F/C) dress hung loosely around your shoulders but clung to your body in just the right places.  Your hair was done beautifully, complimenting your facial shape. The way your eyes sparkled as you stared deeply into the vast night. He wished he could press his lips against yours, seeing if they matched your soft features. His heart was soaring as he reached closer to you almost in arms reach. He unconsciously fiddled with his tie as he called out to you, "(Y-y/n)-chan?" His voice breaking the silence of the night.

You're head whipped around as your eyes met with Kageyama's. You had been avoiding him all night. You were insecure about what you were wearing since you normally were dressed so differently and you thought that he wouldn't feel attracted towards you.

You gasped slightly at how handsome he looked under the moonlight. His raven hair which was normally worn down, was now slicked back. The suit he was wearing looked lovely on him, as well as his red tie that hung disorganized around his neck. Your cheeks lit up a soft shade of pink as you noticed you'd been staring at him instead of responding. You quickly turned around towards the vast sky and softly spoke, "Hi Kageyama-kun, how's the dance going?" You closed your eyes as the small breeze picked up again.

He walked closer to you as he leaned on the balcony, his blue eyes fixated on you. You turned your head to look at him as he spoke, "It's alright. Tanaka and Nishinoya are having a dance battle."

You laughed heartedly at the image of them dancing. You often questioned your friendship with some of the boys. Kageyama looked longingly at you, his heart fluttering at your laugh. You wiped a small tear from the corner of your eye and smiled lightly at him, "Kageyama?"

He looked at you with his eyebrows furrowed slightly, "Yeah?"

You swallowed a lump in your throat. This is the most you've ever talked to him, alone that is. "Could I tell you something?" A wave of nervousness washed over you as you thought of millions of responses he could say.

You heard him say softly, 'yeah' as your mind raced a mile a minute. Little did you know that his mind was racing as well. What could you possibly say? You hated him? You wanted him to go away? Your voice interrupted his thoughts, "Kageyama? You in there?" You waved your hand in his face. He blushed madly and cleared his throat, fixing his eyes on you.

A light pink tint was dusted across your cheeks, "D-Do you often look up at the stars and they remind you of someone?" You looked down at your shoes as they suddenly became interesting. Kageyama was confused nonetheless. What did you mean? Did you think of him? He thought of your bright smile when he looked at the stars. He simply nodded at you question, "I-I think so."

The butterflies in your stomach fluttered rapidly. You hoped he thought of you, as you thought of him. All the other teammates would tell you numerous times that he liked, no, loved you. You had to confess now, this could be the last time you're alone with him. You slid your hand on the railing and placed it on top of his. His face was shocked as he looked at you, "(Y-Y/n)-chan?"

You gazed into his beautiful ocean eyes as you confessed to him, "I love you Kageyama-kun. You're my stars and moon." You felt him tense up under your hand. His eyes widened to almost inhuman size as his cheeks ignited into red.

He didn't respond, he just stared at you with his mouth agape. You felt your heart sink, maybe the guys were wrong. The familiarly feeling of tears pricking behind your eyes became prominent. You were about to let go of his hand but he grabbed your wrist gently. You looked up to him, only to feel his lips pressing against yours. Your whole body felt electric as you melted into his touch. His arms snaked around your waist as he pulled away, resting his forehead on yours. "I love you too (Y/N)-chan," he spoke softly.

You felt pure euphoria. You started to cry in joy as his words danced around your heart. You pulled him down and kissed him passionately once more. Pulling away, you noticed that your favorite song was playing. It was a slow tempo song, one you'd dance to with someone. Kageyama noticed your change in thought and looked to where your attention was now focused on. He realized you humming the song and he smiled lightly.

"Would you dance with me?" Your head whipped in his direction, a blush was prominent on his cheeks. You smiled brightly and took his hand, "of course I'll dance with you."

The way it brings out the blue in your eyes.

He took his hand and placed it around your waist, the other one intertwined with yours. You rested your hand and head on his shoulder, the music played lightly in the background. You two moved in sync, like your bodies were made for each other. He held you close and then twirled you around. Your laugh filling the night air with such joy.

He admired you as your face beamed beautifully. No one else mattered in this moment. He could stay here forever, he could love you forever.

And all of the voices surrounding us here
They just fade out when you take a breath.
