This guy wasn't ready to listen, he completely invaded my closet and picked out a blue dress for me. He barely gave me few minutes to get ready by stuffing the dress into my hands an pushing me inside the washroom.
"Come on. Go in. Or do you want me to help you with that?" The second those words slunk in, I sprinted inside leaving laughing virat behind me.
Since our engagement, I found virat very confusing. As if he wasn't that person whom I met a year ago at my friend's wedding. He used to speak his mind and acted like it too. But now his actions were different and his words contradictory. He breaks my heart by breaking the engagement and making me pretend to be his fiancée; also on the other side with his soothing touches and hugs he makes me feel like he is sorry somehow.
I sighed loudly and wiped myself the towel, wearing the dress he picked out for me. The moment I got out of the washroom I saw virat still sitting on the bed but this time he was all dress for the party. As usual he looked good. The moment his gaze fell upon me his mouth hung open and closed later on. I bit on my laugh and turned around towards the dresser to get my long ass curls fixed.
"Keep them open. I like them when they are all loose." By now he was behind me looking into my eyes through the mirror. I looked at him suspiciously but he just shrugged in response, "what? It's true." I sighed and decided to pin up the front strand only after twisting it. Once I was satisfied with way I looked somewhere decent, I turned but then virat forwarded something near my chest.
It was a bookeh of white lilies.
And the crazy thing was, those were my favorite.
The craziest, he remembered.
My fingers touched the velvety petals, "why?" I seem to ask later on. I had no idea why on earth virat was being civilized and nice to me. He had no reason to. We weren't going end up together anyway. He should be doing all this for her. My chest constricted at the thought and raised my gaze at him, waiting for a response.
"Congratulations on the success." A ghost smile started to creep up my cheek anyway and my finger took hold of the flower bunch. Virat immediately gave a nod in appreciation and took a step back. His hand forwarded towards the door leading me away.

I didn't know that his teammates were going to be at the party. They were everywhere dancing crazily on the Caribbean music. I was sitting at one of the semi circular couches beside virat until Rohit Sharma showed up. I immediately smiled as he was one of my favorites. "Hello there. I supposed you are Asmi. Virat's — friend."
Yeah truly that's what I was. And that's what I was going to stay. I smiled and nodded giving my hand in his for a handshake. We chatted for a while as he asked me about my life and profession. But when he started talking about his wife after one question about her profession. He just couldn't stop talking about her. I was written in his face that he missed her terribly. "He really misses her." Virat whispered beside me I knowing nodded still giving attention to rohit. Just the Virat's excused himself to attend a call and left me with rohit.
"Virat is really fond of you." My brows in astonishment, "No I am serious. He couldn't stop talking of you other day. Just like me right now, can it stop rambling about ritika." I giggled at it but count unnoticed the fact that he spoke about me to rohit. I tempted to ask him further but stop myself when someone called out rohit. And right here just wave ships hand asked the guy to come over, I recognized him when he was closer. It was Rahul, another ICT player.
"Kya paji, you aren't dancing today." I smiled to myself listening to their endearments. "Come on now we have the entire series in our hands. Let's celebrate." Rahul's said that look right at me but here Rohit shook his head.
