"Shh. Stay still." I touched asmi's cheek and made her look sideways. I blew in her eyes once again which got her shut those beautiful orbs tight.
"Open those eyes for me asmi. Come on, just once." I heard her sigh.
Then she shook her head, "no it's stinging."
I never knew my one dramatic exit which was just a joke by the way will bite me back. I zoomed the car too fast and turned too sharp to get back to Asmi that the dirt flew all over and some went into her eyes.
And now I had made her sit inside the car and inspecting her eyes. Her eyes were covered in tears and dirt; that button nose red. She managed to look cute nevertheless.
"Just once baby, its almost done." She went still at the endearment and opened her eyes slowly. I cleaned it with the corner of my handkerchief and blew some air once again in the end.
"Done. I have some cold water. Clean your face; you will feel better." She obliged and went for the bottle.
"Are you okay now?" I asked once she was done. I saw her nod looking away.
"You shouldn't have done that." My lips pursed at her words. Not again. "I thought you left me alone in this desert." Her voice was low, hurt. It melted my heart.
"It was a joke. I cannot live you." I whispered closing near her, I touched her hand, "not even you ask me to."
Her eyes met mine and there it was that soft look on her face. I knew she believed me. A small smile started creeping on her reddened face, but in a moment she blinked and cleared her throat looking elsewhere.
"It was a very bad joke."
I shook my head, "I know. But just don't do anything stupid when you go back." I plead this time and watched her fidgeting. When I stopped her from doing that she sighed and picked up the water bottle. "I cannot live without you baby." Just then I know she choked on the water and coughed a little.
In concern I sat beside her and patted her back and made her look up. Once she was calmed I kissed her cheek, just to make her look at me completely flabbergast.
I smiled, "it's the truth." I added but her expressions gave her away, it broke my heart when I knew she wasn't convinced.
What I have to do to make her believe? I had no idea. I was getting out of words now.
Why everyone has to break my heart?
Why do they run away from me when I need them the most?
First dad, then the girl I thought I loved and now the most unexpected one, the girl I truly love, asmi. I wanted her to believe me. This one time.
Asmi eyes blinked in confusion and moved closer; her soft fingers touched my cheek wiping the moisture. "Are you —" Her voice choked, "virat, please don't." She leaned in cupping my face this time and rested her forehead on mine. I breathed deeply when I felt her caress my cheek.
"Why can't you believe me asmi?" I asked holding her hand which was resting on my face. "What do you want baby?"
I felt her breath deeply, "I just want a break from all the intensity around me." I nodded pushing back a hair strand away from her face. She looked her best with her hair open. "Please."
