Put fate on hold - Neji x Reader.

First mission

(Note; the reference is strong with this one...)

"Today you will set out on your first official mission." Tsunade states.

"Huh?" [Name] blinks furiously.

"Yes, you and your team are given an easy mission to make you get a feel what's expected of you during a mission." [Name] looks around on her teammates whom doesn't look at all surprised.

"You all knew about this?"

"Since I have been training you I told Hokage-sama that you now are ready for your first mission. If I told you, you would only decline." Neji looks over to [Name]. She makes a fake sad face.

"Neji, YOU TRAITOR!" She wails.

"No, as your mentor I can also see that you're ready for your first mission and if not Neji had recommended it then I probably would." Guy says.

"But I haven't had anytime to practice my super über power thingy!"

"Don't worry [Name], it's an easy mission! You won't hopefully need to use those powers!" Tenten pats her back as a comforting gesture. [Name] sighs heavily in agreement to what Tenten said.

"Yeah I guess...." Tsunade huffs to get back the attention.

"Now, as said your mission is easy. You're only going to deliver an artifact to a lab a bit from Konohagakure."

"Excuse me, what kind of artifact is it Hokage-sama?" Lee questions.

"Lee-kun, there is a reason we are sending it to a lab. Because we don't know!" Neji and Tenten face palms while [Name] curiously approaches Tsunade slowly.

"Can you please show me?" [Name] makes a catlike smile and puts her hands together as if to show how badly she wants to see what it is. Tsunade sighs, but still decides to show it anyways. The team gather around to see this artifact. It's the helmet in her dream, that blocks her vision. She looks at Tsunade as if to ask if she can pick it up, which Tsunade nods to accept. Gently she picks it up and inspects the black visor. It seems to block the forehead and the eyes but not the nose nor the mouth. Over the eye part it has a blue led light on it, although it's not glowing.

"Alright, we need to move out now." Guy pats [Name]'s shoulder.

"Uh, yeah of course." She hands the visor to her teacher.

"Lets meet at the front gates in about half an hour."

"Yessir!" The subordinates answer.

[Name] and Tenten are the first ones to arrive at the gate. Tenten is talking about some of her first missions to help her understand what a first mission looks like.

"We won't even be away for that long, the lab we're going too is just about a few hours away! We will be back by dinner!"

"Yosh! I feel pumped Tenten! My first mission ever!" [Name] skips around until she sees Lee coming this way.

"Oi Lee! over here!" Tenten yells, catching his attention. He runs over to the two girls.

"It's been sometime since we were on a mission! I am going to do my best!" He clutches his fist for extra effect on his statement, making [Name] look at him in awe but Tenten sweat drops. 'Oh boy were back to old times' she thinks to herself. Neji arrives while Lee is giving an inspirational speech about 'youth' and giving 'their all' during missions. He can't help but notice how adorable [Name] looks while listening intently to his teammates gibberish. Her eyes are sparkling in the sun, her [h/c] colored hair flowing freely due to the slight wind in the air. Oh how he wish she was his, he wanted to take care of her. He wanted to be the one who made her happy like that. Neji smiles slightly to himself by the thought of her being his girlfriend. He was never one to think about these kind of things but this girl made him completely out of character, and he was okay with it.
