Put fate on hold - Neji x Reader.

After an examination and a discussion between Sakura and Tsunade, [Name] is discharged from the hospital. Naruto is eager to show the girl around and drags her around of Konohagakure, showing where he did his first prank, where he first saw Sakura, where he ate dango for the first time, all of those stuffs where included in this guided tour. This fantastically coordinated tour was interrupted by a loud grumble from [Name]'s stomach, she was indeed hungry and Naruto knew exactly where to eat their lunch. Ichiraku ramen.

"No no [Name]-chan that's not how you do it!" Naruto exclaims.

"You're supposed to do it like this." He showed how to hold to chopsticks and hoped she would understand.

"Like this?" She tries to copy Naruto but to no avail, they are still not getting any food between the chopsticks. [Name] puts down the chopsticks and sighs heavily, putting her head between her hands, sulking.

"Why can't I do this!?" She wailed.

"There there [Name], it seems like it's your first time. You just need a little bit of practice, just hang in there." Sakura tries to comfort the [h/c] haired girl. Said girl faces Sakura with a stream of tears running down her cheeks.

"But I am hungry now! If I wait I'll get more and more hungry and in the end I'll be so hungry I'll die! Save me Sakura-chan!" She puts her arms around Sakura and goes on about hungry she is. Naruto joins in and try to calm [Name] down. From outside the ramen shop this commotion could be heard and a group of ninjas who just happen too pass by them, decides to take action. Well at least one of them....

"Sakura-san! Naruto-kun! Are you alright!" A sharp male voice calls out the the trio inside.

"Come on Lee, they can handle themselves." A miserable female voice lecture the boy. Out comes [Name] bolting towards Lee and gets down on her knees, putting her hands together like a prayer.

"No it's no alright I am about to die!" She desperately yells out. The two other ninjas rise an eyebrow, this girl seems fine. How could she be dying?

"Don't worry, I, Rock Lee is here to save the day with the power of youth!" He gives the girl a thumbs up and a shining grin. The female ninja facepalms and [Name] looks at Lee like he is some sort of God.

"Oh thank you! Thank you! Almighty God!" She bows deeply and continue ramble something about hunger.

"She is not dying, just hungry..." Sakura leaves the shop and gets [Name] up on her feet again.

"Hello Sakura-san!" Lee immediately forgets about [Name] and focus on Sakura instead.

"I am also here you know..." A sulky Naruto joins the others.

"What is this big fuss about?" The female ninja asks.

"Don't worry Tenten, [Name] here is just hungry and can't handle chopsticks." Sakura explains. Tenten chuckles a little bit but quickly turns to [Name].

"You don't know how to use chopsticks?" [Name] leans in towards Tenten, looks around her suspiciously and carefully starts to whisper.

"Can't trust them chopsticks man, they are trying to starve me to death..." Tenten backs away and scratches her head, laughing nervously.

"I tell you woman! They are conspiring against us!" [Name] raises her fist in the air.

"Noway [Name]-chan! We have to stop them! Geez, and I thought we just ended a war now another one starts!" Naruto panics and Lee joins in to make up a plan on how to fight this war.

"Idiots!" Tenten and Sakura yells in unison smacking them in the back of their heads.

"You would think that the hero who saved the world would be intelligent, Naruto proves the stereotype wrong..." Another man joins in.

"OI NEJI!" Naruto is about to scold Neji but gets cut off by [Name].

"GEEZ THAT IS A BIG BRUISE!" She gets up close and personal to inspect the bruise on his cheek better. Neji is clearly uncomfortable and tries to back away but she continues to pry on.

"Where did you get that from?" A finger tries to make its way to touch the bruise on his cheek but Neji stops it with his hand and gets away.

"You hit me." He crosses his arms and give her a sharp look signaling 'back off, you're annoying'. [Name] scratches her chin.

"I don't recall smacking you in the face."

"Well, you did." He sighs in irritation.

"In that case I am sorry." Neji looks at the shorter girl bowing.

"Don't bow and I forgive you..." He gets really embarrassed by her bowing and do not want to make a scene.

"Are you sure? Ya know, it seems to really hurt?"

" Yeah I promise."

"How sure are you? I can sacrifice my first born if it ever comes-" Neji cuts her off again.

"Yes, relax. It wasn't exactly your fault." He can really not blame her, she is the one who let him leave the war with his life intact. She saved not only his life but Naruto and Hinata's as well. He has no right at be mad at her even if this bruise would have been a problem. [Name] looks at him with a big smile and stretches out her pinky to him, which catches him completely off guard.

"Then pinky promise me." Her smile remains and Neji panics.

"Whatever just stop rambling about it..." Their pinkies entwines and [Name]'s smile grows bigger and Neji avoid her gaze, he just wants to get out of this belittling situation. An unknown feeling enters Neji's system and he can't help but to feel, a little nervous...? Why is she insisting so badly to make sure he is okay? She doesn't even know him. For all he knows his facial expressions either scare girls away or make the shallow girls come around trying to hit on him, but this girl seems genuinely care about his wellbeing.

"Hey [Name]! We need to leave for the office, granny Tsunade has summoned us!" Naruto shouts.

"Okay!" She starts to jog away. "Nice to meet you guys!" [Name] waves and joins in the blonde and the pink haired girl.

"Geez, what a strange girl." Tenten says when they start moving towards the training grounds. Neji turns around to look at the [h/c] haired girl and then look down on his hand, specifically at his pinky and mumbles.

"Yeah, strange indeed."
