“That’s what she told me”, Father John told Mike. They were sitting on a round table. Painted with dark brown color and a glass on top of it. “That’s what she saw”.
Mike was trying to understand. He was lost. His mind seemed like it was in a circle of confusion. “Why did she see that?”, he asked as he held the cup of coffee and kissed its top.
“She told me that she saw that in a dream”, Father John replied. “I was looking around the house to see if there’s more than just one evil entity when I saw Christina hiding all the flammable things and hiding all the lighters and matches. I walked toward her and asked her what she is doing when she told me that she’s preventing the fire. I was about to ask her what do you mean when she held my hand and spilled the story to me”.
Mike didn’t know how to reply. He let air out of his mouth and bent his head toward the ground. He was thinking about what the hell was going on.
“Your house is haunted”, Father John started. “If the demon get any stronger, it’ll be danger for you to stay here”.
Mike’s eyes bulged. They were about to pop out of his head.
“What do you mean?”, Mike asked.
“There are stages for the demon’s strength. His commands can defeat any living and un-living thing in the universe, but according to Dorothy, she just used to summon the weakest demons”.
Everything seemed calm. Everything was so quiet. Not a single voice. Not a single noise.
Daniel moved in his bed, changing his position to feel more comfortable. He turned his back to Timmy and continued his sleep.
"Daniel, are you asleep yet?", Timmy asked Daniel as he was making sure. Maybe he couldn't sleep or maybe he had a nightmare.
"Yes, Timmy", Daniel replied. "My ghost is talking to you".
"Please don't say ghost", Timmy said fearfully. He for sure had a terrifying nightmare.
Daniel didn't reply and decided to continue his sleep. He was so tired. He just wanted to sink into his dreams but Timmy kept annoying him.
"Daniel, are you asleep yet?', Timmy repeated.
Daniel felt furious. He wanted to go hit Timmy with a chair. "Timmy, just…", Daniel threw his blankets away and turned toward his brother's side and gasped.
He saw a demon on top of his brother, choking him.
The demon was as pale as a vampire. His teeth were hanging out of his mouth. His eyes were dark but they were glowing like stars at the same time.
Suddenly, he saw flames coming from outside the room. And flames surrounding the house. The next thing he knows is that fire trucks surrounded the flames surrounding the house.
Someone was yelling through the mega-phone. He was telling everyone to evacuate the house. He kept repeating it on and on and on.
He started hearing screams of horror from downstairs.
Daniel didn't know what to do. He couldn't move. He felt like he was paralyzed, but at the same time he couldn't just stand there seeing his brother…. Dying.
Daniel was about to move when the demon noticed him. He let go of Timmy and let of a loud, deep shriek, and then jumped at Daniel…
He fell on his bed with his eyes closed. He was expecting something to happen but nothing did. He opened his eyes and for his surprise, there was no demon. There was no fire.
He then realized that he wasn't alone in the room.
He had company.
Daniel rose from his bed to see Dorothy sitting next to him with her hand on his shoulder.
