"What?", Raimonda and Mike both asked at the same time with a solemn expression on their faces. "How could Liam be a door?".
Father John took a moment of silence and then decided to speak. Eventhough what he was about to say was perilous, they still had to know.
"You don't understand", Father John replied. "Mike, do you remember the time you said that you saw a hand coming out of Liam's throat?".
"Yes", Mike replied with a parched tone.
"Well that's the demon trying to make its way out", the priest continued. "You see, at first the demon gets out of the possessed body inorder to kill the person who read the letter. After he kills that person mischievously, he goes after his family and kill them all inorder to live in peace".
Mike and Raimonda couldn't believe what they were hearing. Father John seemed terrified too, not because of fear, but for the idea that they might all die.
"Are we going to die?", Raimonda asked Father John as she held his hand and squeezed it tightly in her palm.
"You won't if we stopped it", Father John suggested. He loosened his hand from Raimonda's juicing palms and started walking in circles.
"How?", Raimonda asked quickly. Her eyes buried in the priest's.
"An exorcism", the priest said coldly but with a solemn look.
Mike and Raimonda both exchanged terrified glances. They weren't sure about what to do.
But they had to save their son and kill that wicked witch.
What other choice do they have?
"When do we do this?", Mike asked with a hesitated tone. He was about to say something else but the words got caught in his throat.
"Prepare him by tomorrow", Father John replied as he approached Mike and shook his hand wishing him a good luck.
After walking away but before reaching the front door, Father John had heard a loud slam from upstairs followed by a loud demonic shriek.
"Let me go!", Liam screamed from upstairs. The slams of the bed's legs on the floor increased rapidly.
Father John reached his pockets and held up a small bottle of water in his hands. He twisted it and then handed it to Mike. "This should help keeping him calm", he said as he put the bottle of water in Mike's hand.
"What is this?", Mike asked, examining the bottle.
"It's holy water", Father John replied. "Just throw a little sprinkle on him, and ignore the noise he makes".
The slams became louder this time causing the roof to crack a little. With every slam that hit the floor, the bigger the crack became.
"You're all fools", Liam shouted. "YOU ALL ARE!".
Father John gave Mike a soft shove as like he was telling him to go sprinkle Liam right now. Mike was hesitated but he headed to his son's room anyway.
As he was heading upstairs, Mike heard the front door shutting behind him. He knew that the priest had left.
Mike slightly opened Liam's bedroom door and didn't take any sudden moves. He started opening it a little more.
"Dad", Liam said in his normal voice. "Dad, it's me. Help me".
Mike entered the bedroom quickly and saw the innocence on Liam's face. He saw the normal, sweet face of Liam's.
Everything is over, Mike thought. Is it?
"Dad, please", Liam said. "I'm okay. Tell the priest that we don't need his help anymore. I'm fine, just untie me".
