Getting to know Yoshito

Scarlett wanted to get to know the one who saved her. "So....What's your name?" She asked him.
"It's Yoshito. Your name is Scarlett, right?"
"Yeah. My mom just liked it because it's kind of like the color red, which is her favorite...It's a stupid reason..."
"Don't say that." He said sharply. "Your name is unique and sounds great"
"Um...Thanks?" I said, confused with his reaction. It didn't take him long to realize the way he said it, and he fell off the tree he was on, with his face red.
"Are you ok?!" I asked, worried he might've gotten seriously injured.
"I-I'm fine!" He said, nervously.
"You sure? Your whole face is red!"
"I'm sure!" He said, climbing back up the tree he fell off of.
"Why don't you tell me about yourself?" I said, shyly.
"Well, my dad is a half dog demon and my mom is a human from your time. She lived in Tokyo, Japan, past the well."
"Really? I wasn't in Japan when I crossed the well."
"You weren't?" He asked, confused.
"No. I'm from America. My mom's side of the family is Japanese, and my dad's side of the family is from America and Mexico." Yoshito gave me a very confused look. "You never heard of those places?" I asked.
"Never." He responded.
"Do you have any siblings?" I asked him.
"An older brother and a younger sister. I'm the middle child. And you?"
"I'm an only child..." I responded, a little upset. "What's it like to have siblings?"
"I'm can be a huge pain, but it's fun hunting together and fighting demons."
"Demons?!" I screamed.
"Yeah. There are a lot of demons here. There aren't any demons in your era?" He asked, surprised.
"No!" I yelled.
"Maybe one day you can go with us to see them." He offered, looking away.
"What if the demons kill me?" I asked, afraid.
"I'll make sure they won't touch you." He said, turning to me with a smile.
