Scarlett learned that both Kikyo and Kagome had the power to purify evil and shoot sacred arrows. She tried to get those abilities as well, but took to long to figure them out. She knew that Setsuna had 1 other ability that neither Kagome nor Kikyo had, except Scarlett. In fact, Scarlett had many other abilities that as still hasn't uncovered but is aware of how much she has. When Kagome started training her, she dressed her in a kimono and fixed her hair, which made her look like Kagome, Kikyo, and Setsuna. She did her best to straighten her wavy hair to look like Kagome's. But it ended up very straight like Kikyo. They cut the front part of her hair to bangs, like Kikyo and Setsuna's. When she was finished changing her look, she was amazed by how much she changed. Kagome promised her that she could change her look back to the way it was whenever she wanted. She realized she didn't look much like Kagome, but a lot more like Kikyo and Setsuna. When Yoshito saw her, he couldn't help but stare in amazement.

        Scarlett trained for hours until it was night. Yoshito watched her fail over and over. He tried to offer her help, but she kept refusing. By the time it was midnight, she decided to accept his offer. By sunrise, she knew how to shoot a bow and arrow correctly.
