Eleven months have passed, almost twelve and my technique is improving really fast. I mean as fast as it can improve because of my training sessions. I have to train hard one day and then rest two because of the blood loss. Although it is boring to wait two days, I'd rather be bored than dead.
I succeeded to regenerate my tissues in forty seconds, but there are still thirty seconds that bother me. If only I could regenerate them instantly...
"Kallisto, how are you?"Sasori entered the room. I don't know what I would have done if he hadn’t been by my side. I'll always be grateful to him.
"I am fine. I will go outside to admire the nature...”
"I recommend staying in bed. I know that you like to stay outside, but you are weak now. You have to rest."Sasori didn’t let me get up from bed.
"I thought you recommended me and that it was my decision..." I replied amused by his actions.
"I changed my mind." A tiny smile appeared on his face.
I pouted."That isn't fair, you know..."
"I am going to work. Do not try anything." He exited the room and went to his work table.
"Okay. I'll sit here, waiting for tomorrow...” and probably thinking about how good you are to me and I am lying to you...
I could tell time was not on my side. Every minute felt like hours and every hour felt like days. Every time I was alone it killed me that I was such a liar. I didn't know which one to choose. Tell him or don't tell him... After all I didn't have the courage to tell him. Maybe he won't accept me as his sister if he finds out. Maybe he would accept me if I had the courage to tell him.
As I was sitting there, lost in thoughts, I’ve got the best idea, in my opinion. Sasori was always working. I wanted to go outside and he needed a break. That was perfect!
"Hey, Sasori, why don't you come outside with me?" I yelled, hoping he heard me.
"Why?" He yelled back.
"You need a break and I am tired of staying inside four walls! You've been working all day, and I guess all night. What about taking things slowly? We have all the time now! Why don't you have some fun?" I yelled again, hoping he would say yes.
"You won't give up until I say yes, will you?" He sighed.
"That means yes?" I tried to sound uncertain.
"Yes..." He answered defeated.
"Then let's go! Come on!" I hoped he will have some fun. After all, the only thing I could do was to stay by his side and cherish these moments. He hates to be lied, but that was our mother’s wish...I don’t want to imagine what would happen if he finds out...
"Where are we going?" He entered the room and asked casual.
"Aren’t you excited?" I pouted.
"I'll help you." He avoided the subject and came to help me get up from bed.
"I can walk..." I got up from bed and headed to the door.
"Ok. Just tell me when you need some help." He exited the room behind me.
I stopped from walking."I want to go outside, have some fresh air and spend some time with my brother. That's all." I tried to sound like I'm about to cry. I always win with that.
"That's cheating." He stated.
"Ok, let's go then." I said happy.
We got out of the house and started to walk. After some time, we arrived at a beautiful lake. The water was so clear and fresh, it was like I was dreaming. The wind was blowing but it wasn’t cold. I don't know if Sasori felt the same, but I was stunned by the beauty of the landscape. The moon was reflecting into the water and I could see myself. That moment I truly wanted to tell him.
“Sasori...” I started but lost my confidence as soon as he looked at my face, love and care in his eyes. I couldn’t make him suffer right now, although I know that if I don’t tell him and he’ll find out it would be worse...I don’t feel like telling him now...I want to spend more time with him..."Let's stay here." I suggested.
"As you wish..." He replied.
We set under a tree and there was silence for a few minutes. Probably he was thinking, or admiring the nature, just like me.
"I want to thank you for being there for me, always. You are the best brother." I told him and looked at his face. I could tell by his eyes that he didn’t see that coming...
"You don't have to thank me. That's what brothers do." He looked at the stars.
"But still, you are the best...” I looked at him.
"And you are the best sister. That's it." I guess he wanted to change this subject, too.
"Yes. We're the best..." I laughed. A tiny smile appeared on his face.
"I wonder if suna ninjas looked for us..." I changed the subject.
"They even found us, but I got rid of them..." He replied like it was nothing.
"Oh, where was I?" I wanted to know why he didn't tell me until now.
"You were on a walk.”
"When did it happen?" I asked wanting to know more. I guess I looked like I was interrogating him.
"The day you decided to improve your technique...They weren't more than ten, I suppose." He looked back at me.
"You don't know how many were they, do you?" I was a little bit amused.
"Well, forgive me sister I didn't ask for a minute to count..." He smiled, almost laughing.
"That's ok, I guess." I chuckled.
"By the way, where were you in that day?" He sounded a little bit curious.
"I was walking..." I had to think of an excuse. I hate to lie to you...After my answer I started to feel sad because I shouldn’t be hiding things from my brother and yet that’s what I am doing…
"That's ok. You didn't lose anything. They were weak.” He interrupted my thoughts.
"Oh, so they clearly underestimated us." I chuckled again.
"More like they wanted to negotiate." He replied.
"What were they offering?" I was curious.
"I didn't have the patience to wait for them to finish their offer..."
"Oh..."I laughed. I was expecting this kind of answer.
"Let's get back to the house. It's getting dark." He got up.
"It's not like we are missing-nins and we know how to defend ourselves." I wanted to stay here more.
"Come.” He helped me get up, even though I was able to do that by myself.
I guess he doesn't take no as answer. I thought a little bit amused.
