Eights' POV
I got off the ship followed by Tekara unsure of what will happen next, but I knew I had to be ready. I couldn't turn back now. I walked off the ship and was met with a few troops walking around.
"Come on Eights." He said and I followed him out.
I walked though the bay following Tekara and into the hallway. I saw troops pass me and I noticed something these troops were following protocol exactly, not like I don't follow protocol, but they seemed stiffer than the troops I knew. I had a bad feeling about this.
We reached the door and Tekara took a deep breath and commed in.
"Tekara reporting in." He said and the door opened, I looked around Tekara's shoulder and saw a figure facing away from us.
I heard a raspy breathing from the black figure as he turned around.
Vader radiated a hate even I could feel, a sense of worthless to me even in the the same room as him like I'll never be able to satisfy him, never be able to prove my worth.
"Who is this?" Vader asked Tekara.
"This is GN-9888." He said.
"You can go now GN-9888." Tekara said when Vader didn't reply.
I walked out of that room as fast as I could manage and heard Tekara say something as I left.
"I'm ready to train Master." He said and I closed the door.
What the force, am I supposed to do now? I was kicked out of my mission and I'm not even on the star destroyer I was stationed on. Do I just walk around and look busy or head to the barracks or...
"GN-9888 you may wait in the ship." Tekara said though the comm.
That would of been nice to know earlier, I thought and shrugged.
"Sorry." I heard him whisper though the comm.
I sighed and walked back to the ship on my way back I bumped into some troopers by accident.
"Sorry." I said and looked down to continue walking but one of the two troopers grabbed my shoulder.
"Where do you think you are going?" The trooper asked.
"I'm heading back to the ship." I said and knocked his hand off my shoulder.
"You're not from here are you?" The other trooper said.
"No I'm from Tekara's star destroyer I was asked to accompany him." I said and they tilted their heads at me.
"Got a number?" The first trooper asked me.
"I'm GN-9888 but you can call me Eights." I said.
"I'm SM-7701, he's SM-7674." The trooper that grabbed my shoulder said and then nodded at the other trooper.
"Do you have a nickname?" I asked.
"We have to go." SM-7674 said to his buddy.
"Lord Vader doesn't allow that and we have to go." SM-7701 said and they walked off.
I was about to say bye but they already walked off down the hallway. I shook my head. I wonder why people are so afraid of Vader, most people probably don't even know he's a sith. He's just a person like everyone else.
I walked down the hallway this time making sure I didn't run into another pair of troopers and reached the ship. I unlocked it and climbed in, I shut the door behind me and went to sit in the copilot chair, but I found myself sitting in the pilot's chair instead.
What would it be like to be able to fly anywhere, do anything, have no limits? I thought and looked out the window and into the bay. I sat their lost in thought of how it might look like to be a pilot. I wonder if Hera could teach me? I said remembering the pilot Chopper told me about.
I sat there for a few hours bored watching the hanger bay crews do their jobs.
Finally I heard my comm crackle and Tekara's voice come though.
"Get the ship ready." He said, clearly angry.
I would but I don't know how. I thought and I could hear Tekara facepalming.
Either way I got into the copilot chair and waited for him to come.
I heard footstep, loud and powerful, walk to the ship, and I saw Tekara walk up the gate.
"Hey Tekara, how did it go?" I asked and he didn't respond, he only started up the ship to leave.
Ok then, back to my regular scheduled program. I thought and saw Tekara smirk.
He started up the ship's engine and he flew us back to his star destroyer, we landed in the bay and got up and walked out, I followed him out and we walked to the bridge.
"Hello Tekara, back so soon?" Frazer said and faced us.
"Lord Vader wants me to met us with him and his Master." He said and Frazer's smug attitude disappeared.
"Yes sir." He said to Tekara.
"I'll go alone." Tekara said, and I knew why.
"Are you sure you don't want to take any troops here at all?" Frazer said.
"I'm sure they are all good men and I'll hate to see them go." Tekara said.
"Of course." Frazer said. "When do you set out?"
"In a few hours." Tekara replied and walked out of the bridge and I continued to stand there.
"Good work GN-9888." He said. "Keep it up and there might be a promotion for you."
"Thank you sir." I said.
"Dismissed." The captain said and I walked out of the bridge back to my assigned station.
"Hey Eights." Circuits met me. "You survived."
"Of course I did why won't I?" I said and the others shook their heads. "Tekara's a good person."
Bucket rolled his eyes.
"Did you see Vader?" Mouse spoke up.
"Yes." I said and the other troops starting asking me a million questions.
"Does he have a breathing thingy, like they say?" Vent asked.
"Does he ever take off his helmet?" Bucket asked.
"Does he really have a smoothie maker in his suit?" Mouse asked.
"Ok calm down yes, no and no." I said answering the questions. "We should get back to work,"
"Eights doesn't want to disappoint the Admiral." Bucket joked and I punched him slightly in the arm and he let out a faint sound.
"Let's go." I said again as we got back to work.
