Ryan pulled into a parking spot and came around to my side of the car to help me out. Since when did he start being a gentleman? I reached over to unbuckle myself and gladly placed my good hand in Ryan's. Yes, you heard me right, Ryan Tucker being a gentleman. Seriously, someone start the zombie appocalypse countdown. Okay so maybe it's not that bad but still, I'm shocked. He tells me to go take a seat while he checks in. You know maybe I could see myself with Ryan. Forget Carter Hunt, I really shouldn't have helped him out of that well. I should've just let him stay there until someone else came to get him. And what kind of person goes into a well on purpose just to get a stupid quarter? I don't think I'll ever understand him.

"So how's your hand, Lace?" Ryan asked actually looking concerned.

"Uhh well ya know it's been better but I put it to good use so yeah I think it was worth it." I laughed a little to myself.

"Yeah tell me about it. He really needed that punch and wow I didn't know you could hit that hard, actually I didn't know you were the aggressive type." he shyly told me. Wow, another first, Ryan Tucker being shy. It's actually kinda cute.

"Well he gets under my skin sometimes and I don't know after he started bothering Josh I just lost it. He can be such a dick." I said and he only nodded again.

We sat in silence for the rest of the wait which didn't really bother me because it was comfortable. I just watched the little kids running around in the waiting room and then getting yelled at by their parents. Finally, a nice looking woman called for me and I got up quickly because, like I said, I hate the smell of hospitals. I started walking towards her when I remembered that Ryan was here with me. I didn't want to leave him out here by himself so I asked the nurse if he could come with us and she answered with a nod and a smile. Ryan looked up at me, confused, when I grabbed his hand and pulled him along with me but he never questioned it.

"Alright and you're Lacey, correct?"

"Yup, that's me."

"Ok, and just to make sure I have everything right, it says here you punched your fist into someone's face and then it started to swell.

I blushed from embarassment, knowing that Ryan must've put that down on the paper. Great.

"Um, yeah I wouldn't have put it like that but yeah."

She only smiled at me and then asked me to ball my hand into a fist and then flex it so she could see exactly what was going on with my muscles. She looked over at Ryan and gave him a slight smile and then looked at me again.

"So...are you guys dating?" she asked me as I almost choked and Ryan turned bright red.

"Umm...no we aren't. He's just my brother's best friend and he drove me here after...well you know."

"Oh, sorry. Well your knuckles look fine. Maybe just a little bruised but I don't think you need an x-ray. So you two are free to go. Have a good day and just make sure you ice your hand and the swelling should go down! See ya!" she waves to us and walks out, leaving us alone.

Suddenly, I get a feeling that being in this room alone with Ryan might not be such a good idea. While I'm sitting on the patient's table with my back to him, I can't see him coming so I physically flinch when his hands rest themselves of my shoulders. He isn't touching me except for my shoulders but I can feel his warm breath on my neck and that's enough to send chills down my spine.
