Chapter 14:

Carter:

To say that I wasn't on cloud nine right now was a total understatement. I was happily soaring and flying just from one kiss, and God, it felt so damn good. I wanted Lacey to be mine. All mine. To share her with no other guy. And I know how much of a pussy I must sound like right now but I honestly don't care at all. So you know what I did?

I took Lacey's hand before she could walk away from the kiss and smiled before placing my lips on hers once more. This time with more hunger and passion. I loved this so much. I felt her adorable smile against my lips as we came up for air.

Her stomach growled loudly, making me laugh and softly place a kiss on her nose.

"Lacey have you even eaten today?" I asked her, watching as she threw on a sweater. It was pretty chilly in here for her to be wearing a tank top.

She bit her bottom lip. "Well, I mean I had like..."

I took her hand in mine and led her towards the door.

"Where are we going?" She whined.
Ignoring her, I pulled her along with me out of the hotel room and into the hallway. She stopped in her tracks.

"Is this the part were you kill me?"
I lightly pushed her against the wall.

"Lacey, Lacey, Lacey. I don't kiss and tell." I snorted and continued to pull her out into the cool LA air. It was late but it was LA, there was so much to do and see.

We walked to the car, hand in hand and I opened up the door for her.
(Yes, I can be a gentleman sometimes people.)

"Will you please tell me where we are going?" Lacey whined as I shut the door.

I hopped in the drivers seat, turning on the ignition. My eyes drifted to Lacey and I realized she was wearing my old baseball sweater. She caught my gaze and blushed as she realized what she was wearing.

"I'm sorry, I'll-" Lacey started to take the sweater off but I caught her hand and shook my head.

"No it's okay Lace. It looks good on you." I told her, making her soft blush turn into a deeper color this time.

"Why do you insist on liking me?" She blurted out.

Lacey fiddled with her thumbs. "I mean honestly. I'm nothing special. Your like Kim Kardashian and I'm Rob Kardashian, you're hot, I'm not."

"Okay, for one, that was a terrible analogy. C'mon! The Kardashians? Really?! And two, Lacey, I've already told you how much I care about you, and as stupid as this may sound, we're tied together because of that well. I'm exactly what you wished for. " I said, cockily. She just looked at me and rolled her eyes.

The car ride was semi quiet, with a few words here and there until we finally got to Ihop.

"Really?! You couldn't just tell me we were going to Ihop instead of practically kidnapping me?"

"Well, do you wanna eat or not?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"Im starving!"

Lacey quickly hopped out of the car and I immediatley laced our fingers together easily making her blush in the process.

"You know this is very strange, odd and all the above." Laughing, she said as we walked into the IHOP together.

The lady at the front watched us warmly.

"What a cute couple you two are! I'll get a table ready."

"Oh we're not-" Lacey started.

"That's what they all say sweety. I can see the bond! Right this way." She lead us to our table and we sat down.

"Your waitress will be here soon. Enjoy your meal!" The lady left us and Lacey instantly picked up the menu, scanning it with her warm eyes. I just watched her. God she was so beautiful. I was such a dick to her, and she still accepted me. She still kissed me. Were we together? I wasn't sure, but I liked whatever we had at the moment. This special secret relationship we shared.

Lacey cleared her throat. "What are you staring at?"

"Just admiring the beauty in front of me."

"Carter come one. Like just 3 weeks ago you were saying how I would never be like Courtney. Now your saying I'm beautiful?" She put down the water she was drinking and stared hard at me.

"I was actually talking about the lady behind you but I mean whatever floats your boat Lacey." I smirked, winking at her.

"Ha-ha, very funny. But seriously?"

"Okay Lace. You wanna know the truth?"

She nodded slowly, like I was about to deliver horrible news.

"I said all that because I wanted to push the thoughts of you away, which really didnt end up working. It actually made then stronger by seeing you so hurt by what I said because I hurt hurting you. It killed me to say those things but I did because I was an ass and I thought it would have helped. You are so so gorgeous Lacey. And I really mean it. Like when you crinkle your nose when your mad, or bite your lip when your confused. Or even the one freckle you have on your nose. Its all beautiful to me."

"Carter you are such a sarcastic asshole-"

"Woah woah what?! After everything I just said?!" I threw my hands up.

She just smiled that adorable smile. "And I love everything about you."
