Chapter Thirteen

Vella's POV

I was standing alone on the streets. I really needed a place to stay.. "Hey kid, wanna come over my house?" I heard Dallas behind me and I turned around, quickly nodding. "Yes please."

Dallas smirked and motioned me to follow him. I slowly smiled as I began to walk with him to his house.

Madaline's POV

We all pulled away from the hug. Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry were smiling at each other. "Well I'm going to bed, I'm beat." I said and laid down on the couch. "Hey Maddie, you can sleep in Ponyboy and Sodapop's room." Darry said as he looked down at me.

"Yeah, I can sleep in Darry's room, he's got a huge bed!" Sodapop said and laughed softly. "You sure?" I asked. "Yep, I don't mind," Sodapop grinned and I stood up. "Thanks Soda!" I smiled wide.

"No problem girlie," He said playfully and Darry left to his room, Sodapop going to Darry's room afterwards. I turned around to say goodnight to Ponyboy, but he wasn't there. I went to his room and saw that he was already in bed, beginning to fall asleep.

I shrugged, getting into bed next to him. I slightly turned away, facing the door. My eyes slowly closed, and I fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, I woke up and felt arms around my waist. What the... I thought as I looked from behind to see Ponyboy asleep, holding onto me. My eyes widened and I raised an eyebrow.

"Hey wakey wa-" Steve came in with Johnny and stopped when they saw Ponyboy's arms wrapped around me. "Help me.." I mouthed silently as I slightly blushed. I looked at Johnny who looked kind of mad. Steve slowly got Ponyboy's arms off of me and I stood up.

Johnny left the room, and I chose to follow after him. "Johnny...?" I asked and he quickly turned around. "What was that all about? Why did he have his arms around you like that?" He questioned and my jaw slightly dropped.

"Are you... Jealous?" I asked, raising an eyebrow and his eyes widened. "Me? No..!" He said and looked away in an instant. I smirked and ruffled his hair. "You totally are!" I said and giggled lightly.

"Okay, maybe I am..." He said softly. "Aha! I knew it!" I cheered as I spun around the house. I stopped to notice that Vella wasn't here. "Hey you guys, where's Vella?" I asked. "I dunno, go ask Dal. He's at his house right now." Two-Bit said. That's right, Dallas wasn't here either... I nodded, walking out of the house.
