Quinn's POV:

Saturday morning.

Typical, casual rainy day.

I kept a firm grip onto the umbrella in my hands, listening as the raindrops gently attacked my umbrella and watched as they sleekly slid down. I had been making my way to the library, in search of a book necessary for a book report in English. Yeah, I may have a myriad of books of all genres back at home, but I sought for a specific book. Even though God knows I'll fail the report because I lack giving in-depth descriptions and insight, I do love to read.

Once I arrived to the library, I left my soaked umbrella outside, in hopes that nobody would bother to steal it. As I walked in, I took in the scent of the old books mixed with the new. It was an odd smell to say the least, but I just went with it.

I wandered around a small area filled with a specific genre of books. Since my social anxiety likes to get the best of me, I panic when I have to ask someone for help. In this case, I couldn't bring myself to ask the librarian for the book I was looking for. I scanned through the shelves filled with books, trying to see if there was any sign of the book I needed.

After some time passed of me looking for it, I wanted to give up and go home, but then my luck turned around and I found the book I had been searching for.

My hand reached for the book and took ahold of it, but once I pulled it towards me, the book went the opposite direction, obvious that someone wanted the old book as well. I used all the strength within me to grab it and take it with me, but whoever was pulling it the other way definitely had much more strength.

They used all their strength and pulled it towards their direction, making me stumble and fall onto my butt, in which there was a loud thud. I winced in pain, furrowing my eyebrows together.

"Shoot, my bad, I truly didn't mean to do that..." A polite voice said, coming towards me.

"It's fine..." I mumble as I look up, my eyes meeting Ponyboy's.

"Quinn... I'm-" He started to say, but I cut him off before he could finish the anti-climatic apology.

"Shut it and save it for later." I angrily spat before storming off.

Ponyboy's POV:

I groaned, kicking the ground as I ran my hands through my hair, trying to figure out what to do in order for her to talk to me.

I decided the best thing to do was ambush her with a heartfelt apologize and hope for the best. It was all or nothing.

I jogged over to where she hid, which was in the middle of a bunch of bookshelves. She took one look at me, ready to walk away, but I stood in front of her and gently grabbed onto her shoulders. I had one shot to apologize and make things right, or else things would worsen and I would lose her. I didn't want to risk losing the friendship that just bloomed.

"No, wait... Please." I said.

She rolled her eyes before looking up at me, ticked off as she kept an annoyed expression on her face.
