The Cave

"AAAAAHHHH" Mark was screaming as they were falling. They landed softly on Earth. Mark was still screaming, since he had his eyes shut. "We are on the ground now, you can stop screaming." Jack said calmly. Mark opened his eyes and let out a sigh of relief. "Why did you do that?! We have to get you back up there!" Mark yells at Jack. "They were going to shatter you." Jack replied calmly. "And if we go back up there they will shatter me as well." "Well then what do we do?!" Mark asked. He was starting to panic. "First we need to find somewhere to stay for the night." Jack says as he starts to walk. Mark follows without any question. "Here will be good" Jack says as he walks into a cave. "How will we stay warm?" Mark asks a bit skeptical of Jacks' plan. But as Mark was asking Jack already set up a camp fire, only thing it needed was fire. "Mark, can you stand in the pile of wood?" Jack asked calmly. Mark stood in the fire. "Now what I am about to say will not be in a kindly manner." Jack states. "What do you-" Mark starts but was cut off. "You are one of the worst rubies I have every been assigned to." Jack states. Marks starts to heat up. "What did you say?" Mark asked through gritted teeth. "You are one of the worst rubies I have been assigned to." Jack repeats just as calmly. "WHATS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!" Mark burst into flames immediately. "OW" Mark says loudly as he steps out of the fire. "Thank you Mark." Jack says calmly. "Thanks for what?" Mark says. By this time Mark is no longer on fire. "Starting the fire." Jack says with a smug grin. "Oh haha" Mark says sarcastically. There was a long silence. "I did not mean what I said." Jack said, breaking the silence. "What are you talking about?" Mark asks. "If anything you are the best ruby I have ever been assigned to." Jack said quietly. "Oh..." Mark said understanding finally. "It's fine re-" ha started but couldn't finish. Jack was crying. "H-Hey what's wrong?" Mark asked. "W-We fused! A-And it's like..." Jack said between sobs. "It's like what?" Mark asked sympathetically. "It's like... like... I don't know! It's weird! I've never fused before or had more than one eye!" Jack was shouting. Mark never thought about the fusion before this. He replayed the moment in his head, getting a good picture in his head. They had three eyes, it had a mixture of red and green on its body, one eye was blue, another brown, and the one on top a deep shade of red. "H-Hey it'll be alright. We'll find someone in the morning and go exploring." Mark said giving a half smile. "Fine" Jack said laying down outside to look at the stars. Mark went out and joined him. Jack reached for Marks hand and intertwined their fingers. They held hands and watched the stars. It was the most beautiful night.
