Chapter 17: Eternal Pill

Wang Yo POV

We arrived at the palace but it was already night time. The Crown Prince and I bowed towards the King in the court room as all the Ministers stood by the side.

"You have done well, Crown Prince." The King praises.

"The leader of the Kang clan were happy with our offerings thanks to you my King." The Crown Prince smiled proudly.

"I shall grant you the land of Wan for your reward."

At the sound of that my eyes went wide for an instant and my fists clenches as I tried to keep my cool.

All of these rewards and recognitions should be mine!

"Prince Wang Yo." The King finally called for me. I wonder what reward I would get for safely bringing back Crown Prince.

"You must have already known that the 14th Prince and Princess Hara have gone into an accident. You shall have my permission to visit them now. Here are two Eternal Pills for the both of them. Hurry!"

What? Just that? What about my reward?

"Thank you for your graciousness my King. I shall be going now." I bowed once again before leaving the court room.

The Queen must be worried sick, I have to hurry to Jung's room.

When I arrived, the Queen's expression changes immediately from a worried one to a relieved one.

I knew I have the power to make her feel better.

"Oh Yo, I'm so glad to see you well and fine." The Queen caresses me in her embrace.

"My Queen, you have suffered much. How's Jung's condition?" I asked.

The Queen started to sob involuntarily as she wipes her tears with her handkerchief. Court Lady Yoon quickly explains to me that Jung was not out of danger zone yet. And he had suffered a bruise on his forehead when he fell into the lake.

I walked over to take a look at my poor brother who was so frail and weak, lying on the bed as several physicians and servants attend to him.

Suddenly the Eternal Pill that the King gave me came to my mind and I immediately wanted to please my Mother.

"My Queen, the King has granted me two Eternal Pills for Jung and Princess Hara. Here is one for Jung." I turned to look at my servant as she took out the pill for me.

"Oh Yo! I knew you would have the solution!" The Queen was delighted as she took over the pills. She looked at it in amazement as if it was God and instructed Court Lady Yoon to quickly feed it to Jung.

"My Queen, why do you need two pills?" I questioned as she took the one for my wife as well.

The Queen turned around with an angry face as she spats, "Of course I would need two for my baby! That woman doesn't need any of this!"

"Mother, how could you say that about my wife?" I was irritated because my possession was being ill treated.

"You finally acknowledged her as your wife? That woman nearly killed my precious Jung! If he did not save her, he would not be bedridden! She is a murderer and doesn't need any eternal pills!" The Queen yells and I stood back.

"Just like you! But you're weak as you did not accomplished my plan! Get out of the room now! Jung needs to rest."

I was dumbfounded and rooted to the spot. How could the Queen say that about me? I have been working so hard to meet her expectations and these was all I get?

How evil the Queen is.

"All you care about is Jung! I am the one who brings you pride and get you to where you are now. Don't you ever call me weak!" I retaliated at her and stormed out of the room.

Leaving the Queen regretful as she has hurt both of her sons.

Princess Hara's room

"Please save her doctor!" Court Lady Oh has been saying the same thing over and over until the doctor couldn't take it.

"I am trying my best. Please do not make me lose focus." He said as he once again check Princess Hara's pulse, choosing the correct needle to acupuncture at the right vein.

The room instantly turned silent as the doctor tries his best to figure out a way. Beads of sweat trickles down his forehead as he fear that the worst would come.

The servants in the room was already drenched in tears as they pray for the health of their master.

A few moment passed by and Princess Hara's body colour began to turn blue. Her temperature lowered to one like a dead and she was long gone.

"I have done my best, I'm afraid she's gone." The doctor announced after hesitating and it lead to sorrows wailing in the cold chamber.

"Doctor, you must be kidding me! Please check for her pulse again!" Court Lady Oh was eager as she pleads the doctor for help.

"I am sorry. There's nothing I can do more to save her."

"N-no...no you are wrong! NO!!" Court Lady Oh yells at the top of her lungs as she hugs the cold body of her favorite princess.

3 December 2015, YuRi POV

I struggled to open my eyes and a bright light causes me to close my eyes again. I can feel my own fingers moving and I tried to say something.

"Nurse, nurse! She's awake!" I heard a familiar woman's voice yelling.

Grandma?

Suddenly, there's a cold circular feeling on my chest as the doctor places the stethoscope to feel my heart beat.

"Hello, Miss YuRi can you hear me?" The doctor asked and I blink my eyes weakly to represent yes.

"Good. Don't worry grandma, she just needs more rest. Please inform me again if she's clearly awake." I heard the doctor's comment and his faint back vision as he left the room.

"Aigoo YuRi ah... Finally you are awake... Did you know how much worry you caused me?" I feel the cooling but warm touch of my grandma's hands, the hands which I longed for so long.

I'm finally back in 2015...does that mean that Princess Hara is gone? How about the 14th Prince? Did he survive?

The curiosity burns in my mind as I keep questioning the history that hasn't been unfolded.

I was able to sit up the next day and Grandma was feeding me plain congee. I kept staring at her face over and over again, how much I have missed my family when I was in Goryeo.

"Grandma." I said weakly as she spoons some congee up.

"Yes my dear?" She smiled kindly, the one I always yearn to see when I reach home.

"I've missed you."

The smile on her face grew wider and her eyes got teary suddenly.

"Me too my dear. We can go home after tomorrow." She said happily.

"Go home? Really? I can really go home now?" The sound of that warms my heart and calmed me down as tears started trickling down my cheeks.

Grandma embraces me and patted my back to soothe me as I cry in to her shoulder.
