"Happy? What should I get Luce?"
"How should I know?" said Happy. "I'm not the one sleeping with her every night."
I said nothing. To be honest, I liked sleeping next to Luce even when she kicks me out of her bed every morning. Literally.
The shop door opened and closed. A girl with short white hair walked in.
"Oi Lisanna! Are you participating in the contest?" I asked.
"Nah, I'm still getting her a gift though."
I relaxed a bit, "Oh good! You're a girl. You know what girls like. You can help me!"
"Sure!" she said.
I lifted up a pair of jeans, "Do you think she'd like these?"
"Those are for guys."
I picked up my favorite peanut-butter-chocolate candy. "Maybe chocolate?"
"She's allergic to nuts."
"How about this necklace?"
"Natsu, that's a dog collar."
"Maybe this weird toy o-"
"OKAY NATSU! THAT'S ENOUGH!" she face-palmed.
I groaned, "Then what do I get her?"
Lisanna looked up at me as if I was hopeless and sighed. "You don't have to get her something like that. You could always buy her flowers or something of sentimental value."
"That's a good idea. Thanks Lisanna!"
She smiled, "Anytime."
Happy passes buy a few seconds later, a receipt and a bag in his hand.
"You're participating?"
Happy turned around, "Sorry Natsu, but I really want that prize."
"Traitor," I muttered. I marched towards the exit.
"Hey, Natsu!" Lisanna called. I turned around to face her. "You be good to her."
"Of course," I nodded, confused.
What was that supposed to mean, be good to her? I've always been good to Lucy. She is my best friend after all.
