Lucy's Birthday

LAST CHAPTER! For the very few of you who managed to make it this far, Enjoy! I most likely ended up posting this the same day I finished the previous chapter, just so I can start thinking about the next fanfic I write that no one will read.... my sad sad life.

Lucy POV

I watched with excitement as my friends lined up in front of me to give me presents. I was smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. It felt so great to have such incredible friends.

"Let the competition commence!" said Mira.

First up was Juvia. "Juvia made Love Rival Gray cookies." I looked down hesitantly at the sugar cookies with Gray's face on them.

"Uhh... thanks Juvia," I responded weakly.

Next was Happy. Oh dear. I opened up the wrapping paper to find a fit bit. Eh, it could have been worse. "Thanks Happy."

Erza reluctantly brought me a strawberry cake which, to her delight, I shared with her. Gajeel got me bunny ears. Gray made a replica of me out of ice, which was honestly kind of creepy. Levy bought me a new book and a pair of speed reading glasses, and Lisanna bought me a charm bracelet even though she wasn't participating in the contest. Elfman wrote a card complementing me on my "manlyness". From Cana, I received a barrel of beer. Carla and Wendy worked together and bought me a cute pair of heels, and even Virgo stopped by to give me a new dress.

But the whole time I was waiting for one, and one person only.

As the line thinned out, there was no sign of him anywhere. It was heartbreaking to think that he didn't show up.

I was down to the last person, Nab. He got me a tote bag. There was no one else behind him.

Levy called out from somewhere in the guild"Hey Lu-chan! Who won?"

I was about to answer, when I noticed a flash of pink in the doorway.

"Ooh looks like we have a last minute contender," said Mira as Natsu walked into the guild, slowly, but deliberately. He stopped right in front of me smirking.There was nothing in his hands.

Suddenly, his arm was around my waist, and I was pulled towards him before he covered my lips with his. WAIT! WHAT? He pulled back and hugged me so my cheek was pressed against his chest.

Natsu leaned in close and whispered into my ear, "Happy Birthday Luce."
