I waltz into the book store, ready to get Lucy the best birthday gift ever. I walk down the rows of books trying to find one that Lucy would like, but strangely enough, the only ones I could read were about food. I kept walking, scanning the books to my left as I went. I wasn't looking forward, so I bumped into someone.
"Oi flame brain! Watch where you're going."
"Ice princess? You wanna go?" I challenged.
"What are you doing here anyways?" Gray asked.
"I'm not telling."
"Are you by any chance buying Lucy a book?" Gray asked, frowning.
"What's it to you?"
"Dang it, now I have to get something else."
"You're participating!" I yelled.
"NATSU YOU IDIOT!" Gray screamed.
"What?"
"Your hand."
I looked over to my left and realized I had accidentally set the book shelf on fire. "Oh shoot!"
"Now you've really done it. You really do have flames for brains."
EEEHH EEEHH EEEHH! The fire alarm screeched. People screamed and rushed out of the building. Gray and I joined the panicking crowd and exited the building.
"Nice job flame brain." Gray's voice dripped with sarcasm.
"You started it popsicle!"
"NATSU!" They turned around to find a very angry Levy.
"Oh Levy! Hi, how are you?" I greeted. Gray face palmed.
Levy grit her teeth, "Natsu, did you just burn down the bookstore?"
"Oh that?" I said, scratching the back of my neck, "That was an accident." After a pause I asked, "So, what brings you here?"
"Oh I don't know. Maybe I was here to buy a book for Lu-chan from the bookstore you just destroyed," Levy seethed. I smiled sheepishly. Levy sighed. "Now I have to go to the other side of Magnolia to get her a book."
"Sorry."
"Do you know what you're getting Lu-chan yet?" I shook my head. She sighed again, "Why do you have to be so dense?" she said before walking away. I furrowed my brow, puzzled. I turned to Gray.
"What does dense mean?" I asked.
Gray grabbed me by the elbow and pulled me away from the burning bookstore. "Come on Natsu, we need to talk."
